I got something new today :)

The tiny things Cube give you are shockingly poor.

Think I will need to change my pedals as well. The plastic ones they put on the bike as standard are ok in the dry but get any mud on them and they are pretty slippy :(

Be a helpful chap and recommend me some then :p

Bearing in mind I just use an old pair of trainers to go cycling in :o

Top of the page is post #17361 if you're browsing the forum in manly mode :D (80 posts per page).

The superstar nano techs are pretty damn good value for money, huge surface area and lots of grip.

I know this is a "how long is a piece of string" sort of question but I might be getting a nice frame and pair of forks from a mate and I'm wondering (having never built a bike before) what sort of price would people say, using medium range parts, to get to a completed bike stage?

Sorry dude, but that really really is a string length we can not define for ya.
You will need to be a bit more specific, i.e: what frame and fork / what kind of riding/how much do you want to spend etc etc

I got these

Decent value and pretty solid and no slips at all so far and I cycle in an old pair of flay nike trainers

I have the DMR V12 Magnesium, nice and light and loads of grip.

I found the DMR V8/12s to be to deep a pedal and not a big enough platform.

The new Vaults are a much better platform very similar to the Superstar Nanos.

Nice dude, You will like the Tech M4's, the adjustability on the lever is awesome aswell, so easy to get them to feel just how you want.

Probably going to go for a Tech V2 on the front i might run the m4 on the front for a while see if it does what i want then might just stick another m4 on.

Bigger hits the floor more often, the more they stick out the more chance of catching on things.
Nothing about style, a pedal is a functional item first. Each to there own though.

Not from my experience it wont. Most clipless pedals are fat but short and they dont hit the ground much.

That's because most people who ride clipped in ride xc type bikes.
AM/DH bikes, where being clipped in is much less common, have much lower bottom brackets.
