Just waiting on delivery of my second Pitch Pro after the first one got stolen after only about 20 rides  (A long story but the insurance won't pay out, an expensive mistake on my part involving me initally not attaching it to my roofrack properly).

I am looking to add an adjustable seat post to it when it arrives as I found quickly that this is needed when switching from a hardtail to full suspension and then trying to pedal standing up mid trail. Most reviews seem to say the Rockshox Reverb post is the best one, is this the case ? as I am not really clued up on bike parts I would go up to around £300 for one.

I think the Reverb is certainly the pick of the bunch just now - was a 10 out of 10 rated a few months back in one of the magazines.

Nightmare about the bike!:(

Seat post can be had for around £210 form Actionsport.de or about £165 for a X fusion or KS 950. ?;)

booyaka how's your bike?
did you get your fork to feel right?
i'm asking because i'm thinking of getting one.
thanks.

don't ask!!! With all the rain, wind and mega work load at work and home currently - i've not managed to get out on it yet!!:mad:

I'm hoping for an hour or so tomorrow afternoon but not so sure with amount of work on - defo out on sunday for sure!!

Will advise then - it does look fantastic sitting in the garage!!:rolleyes:

So then, lets talk tyres.

I currently run 2.3" Spesh Eskars on front and back as they came with the bike. Before the last GT meet I bought some 2.4" Ardents and by god were they hard to pedal against so I'm up for trying something new, preferably as easy-rolling as the Eskars but with more side grip - any suggestions? I'm currently looking at some 2.4" Nobby Nic's and 2.4" Kenda Nevegal DTC's.

Edit: Also, what's the different between the Superstar Nano Tech Flats and the Thru Pin versions?

It's an Acros AX-22R. integrated top cup (1 1-8") and external bottom cup (1.5") for a straight 1 1-8" steerer, took ages to find the right configuration and this had to come from Germany in the end!

Got my black jagwire cable housing and red alloy ferrules too :D

The Nobby Nic is a much better tyre the Nevegal. Nevegals are sloooooow.

Next question then... ideally I'm looking for a 2.4 on the front and 2.2 on the back - there are loads of different Nobby Nic's (early 2010, late 2010, 2011 - each with different compounds) and I have no idea the pro's and con's of each!

My limited experience is pointing me towards this on the front:

and this on the back:

http://www.nextdaytyres.com/Tyres/Schwalbe/Nobby-Nic-2011.aspx?ID=346

They look okay? I don't want to muck my tyre choice up as that's £82 down the drain :p

The early Scwalbe tyres had reports of exploding off Stans rims. Not burping, but literally exploding!

The TL tyres you selected have extremely thin sidewalls. I bought one to try out. The benifit of them is they are very light, but require sealant to run tubeless (hence tubeless ready). The UST version has thicker sidewalls and does not require sealant.

Then there are the snakeskin versions (tougher).

looking at getting an SX trail soon. I was torn between a full DH rig and a freeride bike. I think I'm going to get a more freeride orientated bike, I'll probably get more use out of it because big DH tracks are quite far away.

looking at this atm http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/819964/ what do you guys think?

Find out what the spec is first, there's the SX Trail 1 and Sx Trail 2 which has a much better spec, £1100 seems like a lot for that, that's SXT2 territory.
