I should have taken pics of BBB to show you. You would have been in spitting distance of it as you were on the freeride bit. The entrance is about 100m after the Freeride entrance to the log skinnies and the exit is right at the end of the car park in front of the Freeride.

Here is an an image from the site -

Couple of vids -

Was really good fun :D

Ahhh, I just checked. 7Stanes put an announcement about the opening on their website on the 23rd April so it must have opened the week after the meet :(

Honestly, its like a bobsleigh run on 2 wheels :D

The BOS VIPr shock will probably be great, but I don't want an air shock on my AM bike.

Anyone want to buy a Float RP23? < 100 miles of riding. :o

New brake ordered (Elixir 5)
As you can see from the photo, the crash has manged it beyond repair...
On a side note, my arm and leg are healing up nicely :)

Just a small update:

I took a gamble and ordered the bike mentioned earlier in L. I'll see how it turns out. Worst case is I'll have to exchange it at nominal cost I imagine.

I have the 8.1 although last years model, bought it second hand and I can't fault it, great quality components and a decent light frame. Bought some decent tyres for it though.

Anyway I'm 5' 7" or 8" with a 30" leg and find the Medium fine :)

As for coed llandegla, I'm going out there on Saturday for a second stab at it this time with my mate instead of my girlfriend so really looking forward to it. Went over Easter and while it was busy I didn't have a problem with it and it was nearly full to capacity!

Dunno about SDK but I'd love to bomb it down that new blue run! Trying to get down it without pedalling would be a challenge, it's hardtail heaven (I was loving it there on my HT) Who cares what the terrain is like - you're still on a bike, it's still gonna kick ass!

Another Glentress meet is possibly in the works - 1st week in June/2nd June onwards for a couple of nights. I was going to go and camp to do it on the cheap, but if enough people show interest again it'd be worth booking a wigwam as it usually only ends up about £30 each if we fill it (5 people), anyone interested?

Those vids look bloody ace Richie, if a little over groomed (the track)
Would love to ride something like that.

Yeah I completely agree. It looks exactly like Llandegla. I know it's only Blue rated vs Llandegla @ black but trails/sections like this are just boring.

To be fair its only that section that's as "manufactured" as that but that what actually makes it work. If you put roots and drops in the way, it would ruin the fast flowing. There is a couple of jump type obstacles hidden in it somewhere.

The other trails (as more trail experienced people here will say) are a lot more "natural"

Looks like I may need to buy a bike rack for the car (or wait till I change cars soon). Its a squeeze getting my big-ass bike (23" frame) into the boot of a Mazda 2... I have to take both wheels off :o

I actually think that section would be more fun in a HT given that you can launch out of the berms a bit easier.... The HT was getting tiresome towards the end of the day with all the "jarring" so I understand another reason people go FS.

Does my "just been on my first proper trail centre" enthusiasm still show ?? :p :D :D

Count me in (if we can fill the Wigwam, £30 is a bargain), it's only a 2hr drive and I can now fit the Pitch in the back of my car (just) so no white knuckle driving with it on the roof. I might even have the Enduro by then :)
