What size rotor have you put on the front?
Any fork will compress under heavy braking, the only way to compensate is to increase the low speed compression damping if your fork has that adjustment, but this will be to the detriment of small bump compliance.

Is it the actual fork flexing or is somewhere else it's moving?

Have you checked the disc rotor bolts and the headset?

Yeah defi the fork, you can see it flexing inwards under braking - the brakes are new fitted and all torqued up and checked etc and checked headset etc is all done up properly.

If the fork is tucking under then you have too powerful a brake for the fork. You will kill the seals in the fork at a minimum. Been there - killed that. :o

Yeah that's what's happening and I figured it was bad!

Any suggestions on a good fork to go for? Based on GT avalanche 3 frame etc!

Carbon demo.

I'm looking for a bike that'll be able to hold my weight (around 21st circa. 300lbs), wont crack, and will last me a long time with proper maintenance.

I really like the look of the specialized hardrock sport 2011. Looks bad ass
But, don't want to get it - then faceplant the pavement when the frame cracks, or wheel buckles. Lol

The structural weight limit of the Hardrocks is 300lbs as is the maximum weight they recommend before braking efficiency is a problem so you should be fine.

As I've got this whole week off work and can't be bothered to do the jobs I need to do in my house, I think I fancy heading down to Cannock for the day on Tuesday. Anyone got any advice on which trails to do etc? I've never been down there before so don't know whats what..

Do the one we did on the OcUK meet and it will take all day (at our pace) ;)

Was the Follow the Monkey which is the two red routes there combined, each has some optional black sections.

Just picked up my new bike. It came with some little clip on pedals which are no use to me, so I'm going to run over to Halfords now and pick up some more.

Came with a little chain guard as well which was nice.

The guys over at Decathlon were really helpful, would recommend them. The bike is also quite well specced for money I think. It's also insanely light, I've been out of biking for a few years, so technology has moved on, but you can literally lift it with 2 fingers.
