Just had a look on eBay at it looks exactly like my seat lol, which is uncomfortable.

I think I need something like this:

If you have just started riding then expect any saddle to hurt for a couple of months. Once your sit bones get used to long rides you can work out then if you need a new seat or not.

I spend 7+ hours sat on this during road rides and it's very comfortable. You just need some time to adjust :)

The long fire road climb up to Beginning Of The End is the normal route.

Oh right! I wonder how much trail I missed then. The diversion was just after the large bridge.

We did the Snowdon Llanberis path up and Ranger Path down. The conditions were pretty bad which didn't help but generally the Ranger path is quite steep and very rocky ;)

Noticed your post on BikeRadar :) Yeah can't wait although I'm going to be pushing most of the way up after my poor climbing effort today, will be interesting to see how many times my chain comes off on the way down, only did it once today, I swear those braking bumps at Cannock were horrendous :D Was your Snowdon ride recent? The biking ban is in force now so I'm gonna head out about 4am and hopefully get finished before 10am, giving myself plenty of time :p

I think the MBR trail is awesome. Glad you liked it too. :D The black sections are only red, but still fun.

The CCDB does bob less than the RP23. It climbs better doesn't it?

Yeah I liked it, I think if there's time I'll go back, ride it again and repeat some sections.

It does climb better, there must be something about having a seperate low speed rebound circuit that keeps it so controlled for general trail riding.

Off to a good start this month anyway, shade over 9 miles done after work, outside chance of reaching 500 since I started using Endomondo in April this month if I try!

Gone down from 35 minutes in April and May to 27 minutes for my 10km PB time now which is a bigger improvement than I expected, especially given the tyres.

Trying to find information about my fork, but the Sram website doesn't hold much, I found some old information that had been copied and pasted from there.

Seemed its rated to a 210mm rotor max its a Rockshox Recon SL.

Some snaps of our ascent up Carn Ban Mor. I have a video of the summit that shows the conditions quite well. Will get it uploaded shortly

Nice and easy start through Glen Feshie:

The Climb was a bit of a slog:

But the views were amazing!

Getting quite high now:

Like I mentioned in an earler post, we had to rely on the compass a couple of times as the trail vanished near the summit:

But we made it:

And the descent started:

Lots more pics, but I don't want to spam the thread :)
Can't recommend Aviemore enough for biking. It's out of this world

The track up looks to be a pretty decent surface, better than I would have expected, starting just east of Glenfeshie Lodge? Which way did you descend?

Do you have a gallery with the rest of the photos?

I live just down the road but hadn't thought to have a crack at it until seeing your post.

The ascent was on double track until about 100ft from the top. It then turned into marshy single track...
It was hard going because the surface was so loose, which caused lots of wheel spinning (my bike isn't the best at climbing anyway)

The descent took us down the other side. We came out about half a mile up from the Glen Feshie car park

Hey guys, I have been keeping an eye out for deals on full suss bikes and noticed that the 2011 model Specialized Camber has now been reduced from £1249 to £999 as below. Do you guys think it's a good bike?

I'd say for £1k its a pretty good machine, that'll get you well started into 'proper' MTBing.

Completely let down by the silver stanchions on that fork though, makes it look like a £150 Argos special. What were you thinking Specialized?

Eh?

Nothing wrong with nickel stantions (if that's what they are), it's what my Marzocchi has :p

edit: They're chrome I think.

Or you could buy my Iron Horse Bootleg 2.0 with much better parts for less money ;) Other than the frame and forks, the bike has brand new parts on it.

It's advertised on bikeradar and singletrackworld

Thinking of heading to the Peak District for a week next week, can anyone recommend trails / places to ride please? Shall be taking the Intense. So it doesn't HAVE TO BE uphill friendly. :D

Any particular part?

I'm a big fan of the Dark Peak area (pretty much north of Hope/Castleton). I'd recommend the V-Publishing books for routes, there's loads of stuff to do around that area.

Ladybower. There are a couple of bits that will be fun on the SS2. The climbs aren't too bad. And there is a pub at the end of the ride! :D

This is the ride I did a couple of years ago.
