Features:
- High Speed Compression
- Low Speed Compression
- Rebound

The most interresting feature of this air shock is the large adjustable air chamber which controls the progressiveness of the shock,so you can get the correct spring rate by only adding or changing air into the air chamber.

The prototype shock came in just over 400g in the 222mm i2i,which is pretty good considering what a RS vivid air weights.Their isn't much more info on the new stoy R air,but i hope they will release more info on this shock like pricing, sizes etc.

I know air shocks are lighter etc but are they really up to the same standard as a coil for small bump sensitivity?

I know its a totally different bike and the fork/shock are way better than mine but when I tried out a mates commencal supreme, rachel athertons old bike :-) it felt butter smooth on the track I was on compaired to my remedy 8.

Still it was nice being on top of rachel :P

I want it for my Tracer, not the DH bike.
Apparently the Vivid air is so close if not equal/superior than it's coil counterpart (depends on who you talk to) in sensitivity to small bumps.

One of my riding buds actually ditched his CCDB coil for his Vivid air on his Specialized Demo as he prefers the Vivid Air. (That said, he's full of sh!t and is always changing his mind about what he thinks is the bestetestestest and have gone through about 2 DH bikes every year for the past 3 years)

I wonder if you guys might be able to help. Recently picked up some PD-M520's & dhb M1 MTB Shoes. I completed the Coast & Castles ride (Newcastle to Edinburgh), but I was really suffereing with my knees. Now, I have done long rides before, but never with SPDs. Have I got them set up correctly, as I was seriosly concerned of doing serious damage on the last day to my left knee. Thankfully, my kees are alright, and I've been swimming a couple of times, and that has helped them, but it has worried me a bit, as if there one part of your body you dont want to knacker - it's your knees!

Ahh yeah Turner DHR it is indeed, looks like a <2008 frame.

If you are looking to buy I'd be weary, unless you get the original reciept with the purchase.
Turner has the best warranty around (only Specialized can compete in that stakes) but the turners are known to crack a lot.

What's your budget for a DH bike, I'll keep my eyes peeled for deals and a lot of my riding mates swap bikes more often than they change underwear.

Budget is pretty much what ever I get for 2011 Remedy 8. Although could possibly stretch 300-400 extra on top of that if needed, but that would be a push. I'd trade my left testicle for a Makulu but that aint gonna happen :P

I imagine it's forcing your knee to work a certain way in the spd's whereas without the pedalling action or foot position may be slightly different.

I'd try a few more rides with them to see if it improves, if not ditch them.
