I'd say the main problem was the fact his arse remains firmly planted in the saddle for the entire sequence!

Now we know why you wouldn't do the river gap in Chatel :p

blimey no wonder he crashed - who jumps sat down lol

In my defence, that was the very first time I've ever jumped sat down.
No idea why I did it, it just happened. Made it over the first time over with no hickups, including the last jump on that line, which is a slightly longer gap too ( 35ish)

Sorry but I couldn't resist

:D

Myself and Andelucheon really enjoyed Kirroughtree and it is closer than Glentress but the cabins are not as good!

Kirroughtree is an extra 2hrs away for me, fool! Not that I'm bothered. :D

Let's just do Glentress again but hit the off-piste stuff there and at Inners.

There is another 'wigwam holidays' site down that end, it was booked up last time.

Do you know where the 'off piste' stuff is?

No but I've got at least a couple of mags with info on natural trails around Innners. Everyone seems to rave about the non trail centre stuff around there so can't be hard to get some routes together.

i have a vague idea of the off-piste bits at glentress but know lots of people that could tell me exactly where they are so could easily find out

That'd be great, from a bit of reading around it looks like the best natural stuff is around Inners, that's fine by me as we never spend long enough there anyway!

bizarrely never done inners yet - get the glentress and think - that'll do nicely!:D

As a side note - new wheels required.

Want to run tubless so options look like the follow:

£243.

I like the look/sound of the Arch Ex rims as i don't do anything mad and they will be more than strong enough.

Basically are the hope hubs worth £100 more?

Just had a guy in who got pro 2 evo with mavic xm719. £280 through wheelcraft. Pretty sure he could build up a set for cheaper than the stans rims.

I look forward to the next meet I'll be on a frankenbike.

I'd be getting hope over xt too.

going to give wheelcraft (big al) a call sometime - I might be over that way next week anyway.

I got a pair of Arch Ex rims on Hope Pro2s a couple weeks back from Moonglu. Did a lot of research on them and they seemed to be the wheels for me.

I fitted them last week and they were easy to get set up tubeless, didn't take me long and I managed to get both tyres on first time with no leaks.

I took them for a quick blast around the Clwyds on Sunday. I've only got my stock wheels to compare them to, but compared to them they're so much better. My bike seemed more responsive and felt a lot easier to climb with but this could have just been the old placebo effect! :)

fair enough- the clicking of hope hubs does slightly put me off but i guess for the "quality build factor" that should be suffered!

I found the noise great for getting walkers to move out of the way! :D

My 80mm On-One CNC stem arrived today to replace my mavity Gap 60mm. Weighs in at a cool 120g dead on compared to the 195g of the Gap stem. It is also a thing of CNC beauty.

looks great in the Gold......oh yes gold bling. Just need to get the grips and seatpost QR to match and job done.

That's incredibly light for the money. I would be sceptical how strong it is. But I'm just jelous because I paid 4 x that for my Pro stem. :o

Dunno, my my most extreme riding involves dropping off the odd kerb these days so will probably be fine. I paid £19.99 as it was the gold one but the Black and Silver are £29.99. They are also the same as the Superstar Zephir which are £45 from what others say on the internet.

Couldn't find a bad review on it though and I did google hard. It certainly feels and looks well made.

I took a risk going for the Gold on a white bike but now it is fitted, I am really happy. Will add some gold grip lockrings and QR to balance it up and these should arrive Friday.

So far, just by changing the tyres, cassette, stem and seat QR (once it arrives) I have saved 2.05lbs off the bike. Not bad considering the bike rrp's at £1300 to start with. Will have spent £800 in total on the Bike and upgrades and will probably get a few quid back for the bits I have stripped off. I see the distributor has put the bike back up to £810 this week so I am glad I got it when it was down at £710.

I was gonna suggest moonglu - flows with evo hubs last year and they've been spot on - great service aswell.
