reverb arrived and fitted! remote placement was pretty hard work - almost like they made it specifically rubbish fit with shimano shifters and brakes lol

also cant be arsed to cut cable down so its a bit long and routed a bit wiggly at the moment...

Nice one mate. Be sure to post back a review after some extended use :)

I ended up ordering some Standec grease along with some Standec 15w suspension Fluid. The Fox stuff I had at home turned out to be Float fluid and was much too think.
Forks have been taken apart and cleaned while I wait for the stuff to arrive.
I found my work stand essential for this part, but all in all it was a pretty pain free process (once I got past the OMG I’m messing about with £500 forks...! hesitation)

Should have asked on here first :p

I had one of these CNC ON-One stems. Mine snapped.

It is quite thin and I could see overtightening could easily cause major problems with this stem.

Not under any illusions here though. Given the pretty relaxed riding I do it should be fine. I could always bung my mavity Gap back on if needs be if i suddenly feel compelled to go hurtling down a mountain.

Anyway, my gold bling turned up from superstar (grips and seatclamp) The grips come in at 115g pair and the seatclamp at 28g, nice quality too and a free bag of Haribo. My wife completely ignored the bits and just saw Haribo this morning, result :D

Just ordered myself a Kore B-52 Stem to replace the 70mm OnOne stem on my c456. Coming from a 40mm Truvativ Hussefelt Stem, it was just way to flexy, probably doesn't help that i'm 15 stone and using 800mm bars. Ended up sticking the 40mm Truvativ back on, which is too short on the 456.

Might keep it for the commuter i'm trying to build up though.

Update, I've decided to ignore the dent until the front end snaps off, and then get crash replacement :P
Luckily it isn't touching the weld so I'll just keep an eye on it.

Lolvid from yesterday:

Been using Endomondo for a while now, but its annoying how fast it eats the battery plus its not hugely accurate often missing sections.
Anyone got a Garmin Edge, been looking at the 500 and 800.

got the 500 and love it - very good, simple, does everything except maps. You can upload to strava, garmin websites etc. Can't fault it.

There is also a 200 now which is a slightly stripped down version of the 500.

I've got a Garmin Edge 500. Not really used it for anything other than a few quick rides yet, but it does work very well. The only thing Endomondo does better is the social network part of it. If Endomondo brought out their own GPS device they'd be on to a winner.

edge 500 here, the battery life is amazing about 15 hours and it seems pretty accurate i love the mounting system very easy to get on and off, but i have been considering the 800 but for me i think it's suitable although i like the idea of having maps i just don't think i'd use it enough to warrant the price, go for the 500 if you want to track where you've been and your fitness, go for the 800 if you want the maps.
and yes it is very easy to upload to endomondo.

Just got a Kona Dew 2 weeks ago. I'm moderately fit but can't run any more because of injuries. Can feel the difference already even on the roads being able to keep up at a good pace. Have a Grave yard near by with monster hills. Short bursts of about a minute or two full pelt knocks the ******** out of you.

How come? You will make more by splitting it.
I've got tendonitis in my left arm which I can't seem to shift, starts to hurt if I ride for more than about 30mins.

Mainly though, I just don't get out enough to justify the cost. Of the two guys I ride with, one's just had a kid and the other has qualified as a lawyer. It's too much money to have just sat there getting used every couple of weeks sadly.

Don't really want to split it, not got the tools to do so and I can't be arsed to send bits all over the place. Would rather someone just took the whole thing.

Surely though unless you desperately need the cash, it isn't costing you anything having the bike sat there when not in use. Most people wont use their bikes on a daily basis. Just seems a shame as you haven't had it long. Your lawyer friend will be celebrating his new career with a super MTB :p
