Looks like a decent jump, but you just dont have the same smooth, flowing style of Supercow.

Try leaning further forward for maximum stlye points (and dont stand up)

my max bid is £350 will go for more right ?

I wouldn't want to spend more than that on it.

Those tyres will want changing, look way too big for the bike and will just be a pain to ride anywhere, thats £40-50 you need to spend there.

Should be plenty around to choose from, a new Hardrock wouldn't cost you much more than £350, think the disc models start about £399.

I had a semi-good ride yesterday at Wharncliffe, got chatting to a bloke there who showed me a bit of trail I've only seen on youtube videos before, it linked to part of a descent I already knew and in total it's about 2 mins of proper tech steep riding, definitely a good find! Shown here
I was expecting the corner at 0.39 from the vids I've seen but didn't realise there's a big root just at the exit!

My rubber queens seemed very good too. The front 2.4 isn't actually as massive as people make out, it's a little broader than a 2.35 Nevegal, my 2.5 nevegal on the hardtail dwarves it. However, they worked well in the sloppy bits which is impressive as the knobblies aren't that big, I can also see the benefit of the black chilli compound, plenty of off-camber roots and rocks at Wharncliffe and I could certainly feel more grip. Oh and they roll a hell of a lot faster than my Nevegals :o

Anyway I unfortunatly ripped my shorts on my saddle about 10 mins into the ride, I tried duct-taping them back up ( :p ) but kept snagging them, not good when you're having to keep your weight back a lot. They're Endura singletracks, I own 3 pairs of Endura pantage, and they've all ripped (going on for 2 years old though so not bad).

Can anyone recommend some decent, hard wearing baggy shorts? Don't need tonnes of pockets, just want something that's relatively lightweight but strong.

I use the Endura clickfast liners but don't bother clicking them in any more so doesn't matter if they're not compatible. Hope they're a bit more burly than the Singletracks. Will check them out cheers.

They are stronger than the Singletrack shorts but not as chunky as Humvees. I just wear some bib shorts underneath as I don't like attached liners. Perfect for me. MT500s are pricey but worth the money IMO. I got mine from All Terrain cycles as they were the cheapest. I tried some on in my LBS first for sizing.
