Is it not just like the hollow tech 2 where you unscrew the cap on the non drive side with what ever fits then undo the 2 allen key bots holding the crank arm to the spline from the crank?

Nope, Sram/truvativ are usually just a self extracting 8/10mm allen key. Usually torqued up to about 40nm so they are tight to get off.

I need to order a new chain for my bike.

Big ring on the front is 44T, biggest on the back is 32T.

16.5" centre to centre on the chainstays.

9 Speed Sram.

Will any Sram 9 speed chain be suitable and just require sizing to length? The interweb seems to suggest that 54"/54 links would be the correct length. I don't have the old chain to compare it to.

Is there any benefit to forking out a bit more for a more expensive chain?

I'd recommend you go ahead and get a new cassette as well if your previous setup was aged, to avoid skipping...

I'm currently running XT Cassette with SRAM PC 971 chain on my XC setup. Don't know what kind of bike you're running, so can't really comment on exactly what chain/cassette would be best, but can't see you needing much more than a PC 971 :\

The tyre comes in 1.8, 2.1 and 2.25 inches wide.
The tube will fit anything from 1.6 - 2.1

It depends which tyre size you are buying. (The 2.25 need a bigger tube).

That tube will be fine even if the Nobby Nic does measure a proper 2.25". I have used 2.1" tubes for bigger tyres for years with no problems.

good swinners sesh on sunday morning (before the rain woop)

not really sure about the man made mega windy bit (with the extra bit if you fancy it) its pretty much flat and just goes for miles of berm after berm with no momentum or speed, if they had built that on a down slope it would have been amazing but just seems odd on flat ground?

the Santa Cruz Nickel is much better on the jumps now though, previous frame flexed like mad when you pumped before the take off,
cleared the longer jump on the second trail along (at the top of the fast dh bit before the labyrinth)

first trail along from the left getting a bit rough again, braking bumps in the berms seem to be back after they all got fixed up (last year?) but still love that bit - pumping berms into jumps woooo
