Yuck! Just looking through forum threads about brakes and stumbled on a pic of a particularly nasty hand injury. Its probably pretty old hat, I wont post a link in case anyone fancies keeping their lunch down but if you want a look google "hope brake hand".

Still en route (probably 1 more weeks wait)

And 2 (2 was a pure accident in ordering :o :D) XM-L T6 on the way.

See how it feels, wasn't the plan but maybe two on the bars and one on the helmet as opposed to one each...

I bought one of these and it arrived yesterday (posted this on the road thread too) its pretty good for what it cost. Rode down some unlit paths this morning and could see pretty well.

I am thinking about buying another as a helmet light though.

Good luck to those people who've bought lights from DX! Like most of the trashy torches/lights they sell you'll probably find the emitter will fail mid-ride. I wouldn't skimp on bike lights if you're relying on them offroad.

I have 4 DX torch style lights (well, 2 DX and 2 ebay which are the same ones that DX sell).
I'v had them for a couple of years and had no problems with any of them.

Nothing wrong with the one I've had in the few years I've had it??

Then you're lucky, I've had 2 XM-L's and a Q7 fail, all from DX, luckily they all failed while I was on the road. The quality control of the cheap lights they source leaves a lot to be desired, some lights aren't heatsinked properly, some draw too much current, some have bad solder joints and if I'm hammering down a trail in the dark I certainly wouldn't put my life at risk by relying on them. You don't even need to spend shed loads, you could pick up a couple of Fenix torches or something with a pair of bike mounts.

You get what you pay for and all that..

I'm not expecting them to last forever, and I haven't abused mine anywhere near as much as I could have so that's why it's lasted for a while.

Guys, what's the alternative's to the Ay-Up lights?

Thought you meant the one with were some guy had cut the end of his finger clean off with a disc rotor....

Hope brake hand beats it

Has anyone used the magicshine lights? The MJ-816e or the MJ-880?

I use a Fenix HP11 head light at the moment but I would like a light for the bike too but don't want to be spending much more than a ton really.
