Well I usually ride swinley, afan, cymcwrn etc so a variety. Will be at the Alps in the summer though may change tyres to proper dh ones for that. What would be a better option than the maxxis at a similar cost? Was looking at the hans dampf but 50 quid each is ridiculous

While I'm here ... has anyone ridden up/down Cadair Idris before? Off to Coed-y-Brenin and Machynlleth for the weekend soon and thought we could divert for a quick up/down here as it's on the doorstep.

Thinking of running a Maxxis Minion DHF on the front and a High Roller on the back of my bike. Want it to be able to cope with some downhilling but also not drag too much for the odd bit of XC/AM. Is this a good combo? Oh and what width should i be going for, the 2.35 or the 2.5? I assume the 2.5 will be quite draggy for the XC stuff?

For XC and AM I wouldnt go over 2.35 personally. I'm currently running 2.35 Swampthings on my DH bike and tbh Im thinking I don't need 2.5 tyres anymore. Only gonna use 2.5 for the Alps and rocky uplifts

Depends whether you're referring to Maxxis 2.5 or actual any other manufacturer :D
2.35 in any but maxxis is enormous for AM

After some brake advice. I was talking through some things while arranging delivery for a new bike and the guy sniggered at my choice of front brake suggesting it was OTT. Any thoughts? Only looking to replace the front. I'm about 100kg.

Nice bike - awful pedals!

also that rear brake hose looks routed in a very strange way?

Yeah the pedals kinda stand out, they're standard with the bike. Never noticed them on the website, I'll prob replace them with something else at some stage. Not much grip on them plus I've got big feet :D

Why's it over the top? they're good brakes. Only way a brake could be over the is the weight surely?
