Initial thoughts on the Undead.

.... it scares the sh!t out of me (in a good way). I wanted something different, and that's exactly what I got.

It's a bit oversprung at the moment with the shock at 450lbs so it was a bit rowdy, but **** me it jumps. Looking at the bike I wouldn't have thought that the ride is as frenzied as it is and certainly wouldn't have though it jumps like it does.

I need to compensate for the progressiveness at the start of the travel as it gives an unexpected amount of pop off a lip. I ended up overshooting a couple step-up by way too far and landed our rainbow sender step-up way further than I ever have (bit too far to make the next turn comfortably)

...not me in the pic, but I only ever just cleared it - but ended up this time a just over a bike length further.

It would be unfair to compare it to the Makulu just yet, as I had that bike entirely dailled, so was obviously today I was a bit slower on the DH runs. Time will tell which I think carries more speed.

That sounds ace, IMO I think the amount of fun it is to ride is more important than how fast you are on it. My Covert was a monster truck with the ccdb and Deville but it took away some of the fun as it made everything to easy.

True, but not entirely as relative to a DH bike than an AM bike.
As I said, was plenty fun, but I have a lot of playing around to do, the process being a lot of fun in itself.

I picked up my Boardman Team FS today and that's my first ride done.

First impressions are the bike feels much smaller than my hardtail although there is only meant to be a 1" difference in frame size to the point where I'll need to measure it to see if they've tried to fob me off with a medium frame instead of a large. :D

I think I might prefer the Sram shifters on the new bike to the Shimano ones on the old and I'll need to fanny about with my saddle height a bit more.

Might just be new bike syndrome but I just knocked 11 minutes off the 9 mile lap I do from my house.

Edit: Credit to the Halfords staff in the Braehead store. Bike setup was spot on and they were very helpful from start to finish. Shame the same can't be said for the other branches I tried.

I am official broken!

POC King and Queen of the Hill Enduro today - absolutely done in. Legs are knackered. Some cracking trails, some super sketchy ones (stage 4 was off the charts difficult) and very very tired legs tonight.

Ditto, i had to skip stage 5 as I was running out of time and my brakes were wrecked, awesome day though. First time riding most of it apart from stage 1 :p

Stage 2 was probably my favourite, had a lot of fun on that one.

Need to work on my fitness and definitely on my skill level for next year :D

What an epic day! Spent the day at Rhyd-Y-Felin (Bala), it's literally 2 miles down the road from Revolution bike park, sun was out, track was fun, dry and rolling very fast (pretty rough too).

Even had Bryceland there practising and just messing around! Anyone else out again tomorrow?

Cow glad to hear you saying that, a few of the reviews I've read have stated something similar that it's smack in the middle of stable but poppy fun as well.
