Big Bike Thread

Hey guys,

Ok moving forward my friend of the family of the gf's has taken a look at the bike and discovered the following.

He can straighten the front wheel no problems. It doesn't need a new rear derailleur but the bracket that holds it on is what needs replacing, nor does it need a chain.

I dropped the rear wheel off at the local bike shop today who stock LOTS of these brackets and told me to bring it down tomorrow and he'll see if they can match it up with one, if not I'll need to contact a specialized retailer, which is fine if needbe.

But can anyone tell me the official name for this bit if I need to do some digging online? Pic below of my bent one :)

Not HL'inked because its a big image - appreciate any help.

Its the Hanger

Cheap as chips and I always carry 2 spares, Even though I've never needed to replace one. But a mate killed 2 on one ride.

Not sure if anyone lives down in the West, but heading down to Devon next weekend, and going to take the MTB, just wondering if anyone has any gps routes I could get from them? (bit of a longshot I expect)

I wouldn't call them humans their all a bit strange down there kinda Hobbit like.

:D

I have one but I never use it. If I had lots of carbon components such as bars, fork steerer, seatpost, then I might invest in one.

After a while you know how tight is too tight and if something is going to move or not. If you have a full suspension frame with pivots then I think they're a good idea as the torque ratings can be quite high there and if something's too tight at a pivot then it can cause premature wear on bearings and/or axles. For general components I don't think they're worth the hassle.

getting fed up of looking for brakes on pinkbike, either over priced or people don't communicate! Awaiting responses back about some hope m4's , hope x2 race's and formula the ones
Taken a look on bikerader but can't see much on there.
Rather get hopes due to the silly amount of spares you can get. Can't afford them new, well i could get one to replace my front brake but i think it'll look silly with one shimano brake and one hope one.

Noticed merlin have formula rx sets going cheap (£150 for the set) anyone used these?

I have the rx's on my meta AM1, i haven't really used many other brakes in the past but they seem great to me, they do tend to need a bit of maintenance to stop disk rub every now and again. i would happily recommend a set for that price!
