Trust Magura to be awkward! By the looks of that you're just going to have to stump up and buy them, seems like a common issue with them rounding so at least you'll have some spares.

Guys, my seat post keeps slipping an inch or so after a while on the trails. I've tightened the allen nut on it a little bit but its still slipping slightly after the QR is pushed fully home.

Does it just need the allen headed bolt ramping up a bit more?.

Does the QR require much force to close it? If it does are the slits in the frame and clamp the same way round? Rotate the clamp so that the slits are opposite and this should help with the issue.

It doesn't require a huge amount of force to close until the last few mm where its at the stage its almost fully home - then it does take a good shove to close it fully.

Sounds like it's torqued enough then, try cleaning it all up and putting it so that the gap on the clamp is opposite to the gap in the frame, this helps to distribute the pressure applied a bit more evenly and should help your issue.

Will do, I'll give that a go, ta. Was getting annoying this morning out on the bike, every few spring gates I stopped to open I had to take the opportunity to adjust the post back up a little bit.

Anyone else been following the Barel EWS spat about 5 minute penalty?

Also just seen this could be an awesome fork that, 34mm with RC2 effectively.

That said, I've been following Minnaar who claimed Fab has been accused of cheating 3 out of 4 rounds, with some photos emerging of him cutting corners.

I'm looking at getting a new bike, it's going to be my first bike and I want to spend a good bit of money to future proof myself a bit. I'm a big chap at the moment 6 foot 3 and around 23 stone so for the time being it will just be used as a form of exercise but at some point down the road I'd like to ride it and utilize it a bit more (once I'm back down to 17 stone ) I've posted elsewhere and someone recommended this to me

http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/CBOO456EVO2/on_one_456_evo2_shimano_deore_mountain_bike

Is that any good? I'm going to Evans at the weekend to see what they have there as there is one near me, any recommendations? Ideally £1000 really is my maximum I can spend.

Thanks

Was impatient could not wait for black Slants to be in stock anywhere and managed to pick these up for under £600.

Right lads - last question on my dropping seatpost hopefully!. It's a Cube Acid 2010 which I think is fitted with an OEM Scape 31.6mm seatpost. So what size QR clamp should I need?. Apologies for what is probably an obvious question!

This is the 2013 kit but its pretty much the same RFR kit I have on my 2010:-

**EDIT** Will the size be likely to be marked on the bottom of the current clamp?. Off to have a look.

I've got 32t upfront and it seems great so far on my 1 x 10.

Must admit that after around 40/50 miles so far with the new Wide/Narrow chainring (raceface one), and zee clutched mech, it's bloody superb.

No chainguide but not a single dropped chain in sight, crisp shifting and no issues at all. Very very impressed with the raceface ring.

^^ as cow just said, the zee is ideal for 1 x 10 as it's short cage.

I think the wide/narrow rings are the best products to come to market for MTBing in the last few years I have got back into it. In fact, the clutch rear mechs seem less of a big thing now and I don't think offer much additional chain retention. (Noise and slap obviously reduced). I have a works one and I just can't make it drop even being a ****.

I also have been running 1x10 with a Zee rear mech for a while now. I was one of the first of my friends to get a Zee rear mech, and some sniggered and told me it wouldn't be as good as XT. I literally set it up once and once only last year and it's been great.

First time i've been up for a while at Cathkin Braes but very disappointed with the state of the trails today. Dog walkers everywhere on the trails, broken bottles, cider bottles and even a tent lying in the middle of the trails. Very overgrown after you start the climb after Dual Slalom, the fern is getting very high. Also the trails are soooo dusty/sketchy with all the fine dust/rocks on the them.

Someone appears to have been out trying to sweep some of the stuff away in the berms but it's looking very tired and disappointing already.

I always did wonder about future maintenance/ongoing work etc as I can see it going to pot over the winter and then suddenly a load of work before 2014 games.

I planned a visit there next week as its a short drive from me but going by your report I think I'll give it a miss.

if you've not been - it's worth a look but having been about 6 times now - it's going downhill everytime I visit - this is due to my fear all along - Council owned and therefore minimum work on the upkeep

it's a decent loop and a good wee run round a few times but just looking messy already
