I watched tonight solely to see what the fuss was all about. Granted, she shouldn't really have said it, but they appear to be good friends and it shouldn't be an issue.

One of my closest course mates is an Indian lad and we constantly have banter. He calls me whitey and now and again I joke around with names too, but solely in jest and we understand it as that.

The Big brother website is getting hammered by people voicing the same support for Emily. I think they will have again totally misjudged the nation.

Charlie said she wasn't offended by the comment but I think she secretly was.

I can see why she was removed to be honest.

Charley is a drama queen who milked it for all it was worth, attention seeking is her top priority.

Wow the Wiki entry for that racial slur already has this incident already on there:

I wonder when it clicks into Charleys head that yes what Emily said was filmed but all her 'reaction' was too...

P.S. Woot My Name is Earl is back...

ps3ud0

Good call :)

I genuinely do not see Emily as a racist. Perhaps it is within her culture where she lives to use the word '******' - where up "here" (in the Northeast), I suspect we would use '****', 'black person' or 'immigrant'.

Perhaps BB and C4 are covering their backsides, after the Shlipa Shetty do.

But I feel all housemates, regardless of their colour, should be removed for using racist words, including the word '******'. Only then, will I fully agree with C4/BB's decision to remove Emily.

Surely if Emily said it, then everyone else who said it should also be removed.

The fact that Charley and Nicky said it too and have gone unpunished is racism in itself.

Spot on, if she was punished for saying it, then anyone who said it should also receive the same punishment.

They have hung a poor kid out to the wolves to save their own embarrased white middle class arses.

Sickening.

It's arguable that they actually saved her from a worse reception on Friday.

Even if she stayed in got a warning or something, enough of the public would think this is offensive enough for her to be evicted and crucified on Friday.

Is there a lot of black people in Bristol? Will it be tough for her to go back there? (I am from near London and have never been to Bristol).

my note to Channel4 and Ofcom, I agree, they have once again misjudged the public immensely.

Did you even contemplate the effect on Emily before airing the biased witch hunt you call footage. You dont even know her well enough to make a judgement on her motives but hang her out to dry making her public enemy number one. No, she shouldnt have said it but you shouldnt have aired it and had "extended" highlights. You, Channel 4, are a disgrace and in an effort to "make good" you past mistakes have, Im afraid, just compounded it and quite probably again turned the public against you. I have filed a complaint with Ofcom regarding this broadcast.

They didn't call anyone it. Apart from Charley talking about herself and that would just be ridicu-lass!

Yeh, but BB seemed to be playing the "the public might be offended by what you said" card.

So it's ok for the others to say it?

They didn't even talk to Charley and ask if she was offended.

am i the only one that thinks its quite funny that there are loads of black people(or atleast more so than usual) in the audience for BBBM and also a black comedian as one of the guests?

EDIT george galloway cracks me up so much! :D

Oh no look at the BB site. They have made her the exact opposite. They have called this wrong big time. Big brother on big mouth back slapping their own decision.

You are imagining it. They generally have the same people on a lot of days and most of them are regulars.

George is great. BUT NOT AS GOOD AS THE TWINS

Opposite, a lot of the people in the audience are supporting her, even George is helping her out a bit.
