So basically I bought a new waterblock off ebay and the guy hadn't
cleaned it properly. Having fully dismantled the waterblock I
removed a small metal sheet which revealed a second O-Ring which
slipped out of place as soon as I fully removed the sheet. I've spent
the best part of an hour trying to put it back in place but it just
doesn't want to go back in. It would seem the ring is just a little too
big which leaves a little excess but when trying to put this in place the
whole ring will fall back out.
Now I'm considering to cut it and try to fit in that way but I'm guessing
that's a last resort horrible idea. The groove which the ring is supposed
to fit in is very shallow meaning it's forever slipping out of place. At the
moment I'm using some electrical tape I had laying around just to hold it
in place (so it shapes well). Does anyone here at overclockers have any
advice on how to get this sucker back in place?
Also here's a picture for your amusement.
