Big monitors the future?

Dell sell a 24" IPS 4K monitor. I'm typing this message on one right now. And very nice it is too.

Yea i saw the thread and thought it was the Dell, Nice screen but at 60hz a lot of the clarity of 4K is lost to smearing. I am going to wait until 4K 120hz in a 24 inch maybe? In the meantime 4K 120hz with ULMB on the Eizo is still the best 24 inch choice i think.

The Dell is twice the PPI though which is impressive! But really after that it becomes a normal screen it would be like going back to my Dell 2007WFP days maybe that 20 inch started this PPI fixation.

I'd be interested to see any photos of set-ups with people with 40" monitors/TV's. Even at about 1m away I'm sure I'd be moving my head all over the place.

I sit 1&1/2 times arm length away from my screen which is a 40" 4k monitor and its much better than using my 28" screen. Infact I might sell that and just keep the 40 as single screen setup instead of running both.

My head doesn't move about at all dont know why you think it would be that bad!lol

If you need a photo I will get a POV shot replicating my seating position.

Just tried my old 32 inch TV on my desk to see if I liked the size... Hell no it done my eyes in! 27 inch max for me on the desk I think, one thing I did notice is that the colours of my TN TV were much better than my monitor's, Just wondering what panel I should go for now... TN looks greyish, IPS has glow....., VA has purple distortion??

I'm sticking with my 34" superwide, a 40" 4k monitor doesn't interest me.

I have to agree with that I like the width I can have two windows open side by side a browser window and a live TV feed on the other say, some people have dual monitors I prefer one continuous screen. A 40" would be basically two 34's stacked on top of each other and I really don't need any extra height not to mention the fact there isn't a single gpu that can comfortably drive 4k gaming yet without compromising on quality/settings.

I can't imagine having 4k on a 24" screen or the like the text must be so miniscule as to need a magnifying glass to see it I already have text scaled to 140% as it is.

Well, maybe not my head so much, but I checked the dimensions of some TV's and figured out where that would come to, and I'd be looking up, down, left and right far more than I am even with my 34" ultrawide.
