I'll be honest though, I am running XP at the moment, but I do have a copy of Vista Ultimate Retail sitting on my shelf that I paid £300+ for, but I went back to XP until most drivers where out of beta... they seem to be so far. But I'm too into S.T.A.L.K.E.R atm, and that has a few issues with Vista. Once thats done Ill go back!
But surely the fact that he is getting an error message and no further means it isn't just an OEM/Full version issue? I have swapped motherboards on an OEM Windows in the past. Can't remember exactly but it came up with the re-registering screen at which point that didn't work over the net and I had to phone MS. The guy asked about the license and what I was doing, I explained I was just upgrading and he was happy to give me anew key - free.
I don't think that is the problem here though. But I'm not going to be much use as I have no suggestions - hope for you it is a call to MS.

what so you think that this problem is lower than oem/retail editions ? do i need to do anything else to anything sure as hard drive.. i did delete my drive when loading up xp cd then it formatted the hard drive.. did i do something wrong ?
All I can say is get on the blower to MS and explain to them.. sumin is happening with the validation of your copy of XP... just strange its throwing an error!

it is a pretty error i get to the welcome screen.. and when it is loading a 'pretty' error comes up then i press ok and it loads up the welcome screen then if i click on my profile it just keeps saying the same thing.. i think it is because it might be a oem version....
Nothing much really, safe mode is just to allow you into windows to allow you to change sumin that you may have done that is preventing you from booting into windows normally.
But the fact it lets you in in safe mode is strange, but maybe windows will let you in safe mode regardless cos, as you say, theres nothing you can do in there.
Have you phoned MS yet? They will be able to help, cos it is definitely something to do with the validation of the copy of windows!

When you installed, did you remove all partitions of the HDD, and give it a full NTFS format? Is it a brand new HDD? Or moved from your old rig? Might be some old boot info from your previous installation? Doubt it, but you never know?
I had issues with my XP installation on my new rig, mine was throwing a BSOD though, and it wa sa prob with my ram, but i happily installed it a few times on different HDDs to see if it wasn't the HDD that was the problem (I done that before I knew it was the RAM of course, as I thought it was the HDD at first).
