big temperature drop

i live in south east england in essex

22 days ago I was complaining how hot it was in my maisonette with my digital stat on my landing recording 31 degrees.

today my stat is recording 19 degrees and earlier this morning I was thinking of turning central heating on.

The positive thing is that I appear to have lost my hankering for an air con unit for the moment :)
 
Bah.

At least I'm going on another holiday soon to get back to some decent temperatures! ;)

Rock on Cyprus! :cool: (if I can actually get there :p)
 
Im absoloutley loving it.

Im going to put a big jacket on, walk around town with a can of fosters and a mean looking dog, getting eggy with anyone that looks at me.

I love normal weather. YES it just started to rain BRILLIANT. ! :D

On a serious note I can understand why you'd prefer colder climate - after all it's what the UK is "supposed" to have I guess.

I have to say I do like cold and crisp winter mornings, with nothing but sunshine. I *hate* the rain though.

I quite like the fact we have cold winters and hot summers. It's great IMO. :)

I really don't mind the rain, sometimes I can find it quite clensing in a way.
 
Although I like rain, I do also like it when it's cold and sunny :) I just hate the hot 30c+ weather when it's sticky and humid.

It's cleansing because it's so acidic :p

Now tropical rain that you get in the caribbean or other tropics round the world is pretty cool - but then again the relative humidity tends to be constantly over 90% so it's always welcomes - when it rains it's actually drier than the atmosphere :p (that's not true btw ;))

Rain in the UK is miserable and glum. However it is a nice excuse to stay indoors curled up in front of the fireplace with a good book/movie/company... :)

I agree with DD - humid heat isn't so nice, but dry heat is fine if there's a little breeze. :)
 
I thought all the weather people were predicting that August would be even hotter than July, and we would be hit with heatwave after heatwave?!! well....i'm still waiting :o
