I forgot to mention, I have one of these things that electrocutes the *******. :D

probably just the same as wasps/bees except that theres not enough to do a lot of harm in wasps/bees, unless theres a lot of them.

I have a huge phobia of wasps. I think it's because I have a memory stuck in my head of when I was a child, screaming in angony with a wasp attached to my kneecap - it did bloody hurt!
Since then I absolutely hate them. If they come near me I usually shout VERY loud, and often swear - I don't even think about where I am! It happened in a shopper center once full of people.
I hate it when I wear shorts and the sods fly around my legs, they are just so damn annoying.
I have some respect for bee's, especially honey bee's, but wasps are just lame.

Personally the thing will have been flung in a panic like fashion before I had chance to see if it had a pair of ****! :eek: ;)
 
Mate you have the same wasp fear backstory as me! seriously.

They smell my fear... and pounce whenever i am on a bus. Id rather completely embarrass myself than sit there in silent panic

Worse than that, but stinging nettles don't really hurt, just irritate you for a day.

And wasps will only attack you if you threaten them, even if it lands on you.
 
now this was big, but harmless, though before i discovered it was a woodwasp, i cacked myself when it flew towards me :D

I think that thing in the original pic is a hover fly which immitates a wasp :p Im not usually scared of insects but the pic of that hornet made my stomach churn! Those things can kill.
