Any idea as to who has the biggest database in the UK? (With regard to the number of different people stored on it). I've googled but to no avail. Someone has suggested Barclays with around 3/4 million people. Is this true?

Thanks.

would depend on what you mean by biggest.... 100 records with one item of data or 60 records containing 2 bits... with people as you ask it would be some goverment org.... but data wise im not sure

Well i'm doing an assignment and its about the new NHS Care Record System. Thats going to be around 50-60 million when finished, and according to my lecturer that's going to be the biggest, and by a a long way. (In the UK anyway).

I was just trying to find out how much "by a long way" is.

**edit:** actually thinking about it he was the one that mentioned Barclays is the second biggest, how could he miss something as obvious as HMRC or Tesco?? Is there something I'm missing here?

Tesco afaik

Tesco?

How would that be the biggest?

HMRC is my choice. After that I'd be thinking Police/Home Office.

[edit]No, I'm going National Insurance actually. Everyone is on that. Alive or dead.

This would be my guess, I know someone who works on a system that deals with the NI database and he said they're got info on people from way back on there.

I can't believe 50-60 million will be the biggest. NI will have more people than that. A lot more.
