Biggest Letdown This Generation

i must say i have not been disappointed with any purchase this gen, but thats not to say there hasn't been any crap released.

if anything then i guess i would have to say assassin's creed. My gripe with that game was how the end game favoured so much fighting, where i expected it to lean on its stregths of platforming and stealth. The fight system wasn't exactly deep, nor was it difficult so it just a got bit dull. I did really enjoy the game overall though.

oh and if anyone wants to see a game with good voice acting, then play heavenly sword. Good voices and motion captured lip synced cutscenes, now that is a cut above everything mentioned.

Lucky how?

Gow was very disappointing for me, and would have been my biggest let had it now be for the likes of bioshock and Uncharted that has came out since then, which like Gow had lots of high praise and just fail to deliver on so many level.

Thats was it, at the time i got Halo 3 and COD4 with the 360 package, but bought GOW as I just assummed it was that good...putting it on after player COD4 was probobly my mistake lol

Stuntman : Ignition - So repetitive, it only saw the inside of my 360 for half an hour.

Blue Dragon - i felt i never knew the characters..unlike final fantasy where it just seems different.

mass effect - big letdown for me, i love rpg's but this just didnt cut it for me, i got bored of it very quickly.

of course they are only my opinion.

Fair enough I just dont see how it's success is lucky?

Probably halo 3, anyone remember the vid they released showing the ark or wtf ever that thing in the ground was opening? Then it stated in the followup vid this is what our engine can do, funnily enough in the game it looked nowhere near that good.

Graphics and sound imo weren't upto scratch which obviously affects the presentation of the game. Some of the machine guns sounded like bb guns =/

Can't see bf2 as a let down,

Considering the games infantry combat turned into nothing but who can spam the prone key faster the game was a big letdown in that respect. As is usually the case with bf games the game felt like infantry combat had about 5 minutes of thought put into it.

All shooters have that though. If it's not prone-spamming then it's bunny-hopping, if it's not bunny-hopping then it's spraying and praying. I've not personally played a first-person shooter without unrealistic physics/gameplay and people who use that to their advantage.

Yeah but ea and dice stated that the prone spamming would be "fixed" and they never done that. As is usually the case with pc games people always have to whore some little exploit that gives them some kind of advantage and soon enough that becomes "the" way to play.

Gets boring, especially when devs dont bother their ass fixing things that obviously are unintentional.

Actually, they said they'd limit it in some way and they added delays.

But honestly, did you really expect EA to live up to their word for improving the product? :)

They added delays but it was still entirely possible to spring around the map like somone doing the worm.

I actually expected dice to sort it but seems i expected too much :(

Makes me wonder what battlefield 3 will be like, may as well eliminate infantry alltogether as the games focus is and always has been on vehicles, with infantry taking a distant last place in the scale of things to put actual work into.

Sounds like you haven't looked very hard.

I have and compared to San Andreas it is severly lacking I am not saying it does not contain stuff to do but obviously you always compare like for like and it just does not cut it for me. SA has more to do after you complete the SP missions & VC is the best overall due to its superb atmosphere & music.

Infantry only maps, the only way to play :)
