am i missing somethink here your reply makes no sence please explain ?

"Don't get upset because some people don't think GTA IV is all that sheesh" what wrong with the reply like he said not every thinks it's that good.

your missing the fact that i -

SAID ITS NOT A 10/10 GAME BY A LONG WAY AND HAS PLENTY OF FLAWS.

The guy responded as if i was a fanboy going "OMGOZZZOOORR GTA is the best thing since i figured out what else my willy did" What i said is that the dialogue and speech acting in GTA4 is LIGHTYEARS ahead of other games, and i mean LIGHTYEARS. Ive spent much of my formative years critiqueing movies and other forms of entertainment both privately and publicly. I consider myself literate and with a great grasp of language and its many forms, styles and nuances. Ordinarily it is clear to me that even top notch game dialogue, like say cut scenes in a big FPS like Half-Life 2 or Halo3 is, whilst passable, is the literary equivalent of a 'point-action' novel presented with the voice acting skills of a daytime television presenter.

GTA was clearly a cut above this. The production values and presentation coupled with the voice acting and scripting were so much closer to a-grade box office than ever before in a video game, a real evoloution. This is however subjective, i value my opinion and where its voiced usually others do too, however one mans apocalypse now is another mans, shudder, 10,000BC.

Biggest disapointment is the games for the PS3. Technical issues like frame rate drops and adaptive v-sync which for me is not exceptable for a console game. Most of the games I've purchased have had v-sync disabled with is the most annoying thing for me, eg: Drakes fortune, Lego Starwars, Assasins Creed, Dark Sector, the list goes on.

Still playing my PS2 and Gamecube until Sony sort some decent games and not just ports.

Excellent Idea.

Honestly, No games have let me down terribly, I've really enjoyed most.

I guess I'll go with Assassins creed.

It's beautiful, But some what lacking in the game play area.

Basically the game could have been so much better, And so it was a let down. :(

So yeah, Assassins creed for me

Halo 3
Gears of War (did anyone else think it was just really really repetitive?)

Bought them when i got the 360 last chrimbo and was expecting sommin magical from GOW.

It's really not. Saints Row and Uncharted (especially) are definitely superior to GTA4.
The protagonist of GTA4, Niko, has an unforgivably poor Serbian accent, so that straight away is bad. Sure Little Jacob is funny, but they just got someone to speak 'rasta', whether it was voice acted by a professional or a person off the streets you wouldn't be able to tell.

If Brucie wasn't so funny and the star of the entire game I doubt people would be talking much about the voice works.

Quite a few dissapointments for me.

  • GTA4 - yes its pretty good, but 10 out of 10! dont think so, far to samey for my liking
  • GT5 Prolouge - I know its only a demo, but seeing as they had the nerve to charge you for it it makes the list, sim ay ar$e, my best times have been set by crashing into other cars and barriers deliberatly, that aint right.
  • Halo 3 - I enjoyed it more then any other Halo game in fairness, but no where near the hype.
  • Pro Evo - Just what have they done to the series :(
  • PS3 - sorry to generalise, but so far I have uncharted is the only game of merit iv played on my PS3, its been sat gathering dust since I finished the game, role on some AAA titles.

Gow just got lucky and that there has been far more disappointing game released since then.
