Biggest Letdown This Generation

Aye that's pretty much what I am saying. While no custom-built PC is identical, all PCs just fall under the "PC" category and will play pretty much any PC game assuming the minimum requirements are met.
 
OK OK, new biggest letdown for me... My trusty 18 month-old 360 breaking and giving me 'unreadable disc' errors on any game I put in, after I'd spent only 3 days overall with GTA IV :(

windows 3.1 is the same as vista ?
dx2 is the same as dx10 ?

not even sure what you guys are even trying to argue about anymore....but il stick to crysis lol
 
Bioshock was a great game imo but it was slightly too long! It did get boring towards then end and it dragged it's heels a bit but it had such a great atmosphere imo. My biggest disappointment would probably be Halo 3. I just coudn't get into it. I expected a lot better in graphics/gameplay and story, just didn't live up to the hype one bit for me. Barely play it now.

Yeah I loved the game but by the time I got closer to the end I was getting sick of it, felt like it was going over itself. I hope they pull off the movie!
 
Biocrap (good but too limited and too similar to ss2)

Uncharted.. considering the hype...i was almost expecting the second coming... nope just an above average shooty - platform - puzzler with a poor story (IMO story feels half done)
 
Superman returns - I know its a movie game and generall they're awful but i was really hoping it would be different with this one. The trailers and dev promo's made it look so amazing :(.
 
Madden '08 - First game I actually went and bought for my PS3.

Was really looking forward to that as well but graphics, framerate, sound and gameplay were all rubbish.
 
Halo has always been a fan based game, making you feel like an actual SPARTAN WARRIORRR!

I loved it online so it's not really a let down.
 
Dunno but i thought Bioshock was superb...hardly the biggest letdown of this generation...me thinks the lot of you expect a bit too much tbqh.

So far id have to say Assassins Creed was a big letdown...just too repetitive and i cant be bothered to go back and get all the flags and other achievements. Cant think of any other games that have been massive letdowns really...ive enjoyed most of the games ive played on my 360.

Windows still has the same feel and look to it as it did when Windows 95 came out.

As for Directx well, I never said it was the same but what I meant was PC's are still using the same OS (for gaming) and Directx is still the most used API, think of Directx as an engine, it has just gone through revisions.

very sensibly too, microsoft got where they are largely by creating and maintaining a consistent environment that was familiar to users trained on previous versions, probably one of the most shrewd things they ever did

i was disappointed about ps3 and keyboard and mouse support for games, not really sonys fault though
