Bike Jacket recommendations

I think triumph jackets are made by a larger company.... (i may be wrong) but their leathers are still higher quality than a £50 jacket.

I agree what your saying totally..I was just asking the question.

Is this a good make?

RST are recognised as the entry/low level brand. By no means anything wrong with them. I have a pair of their boots, gloves and am awaiting some leathers.

Chances are nobody is going to have tried the ones you find. I've seen lots of people during my MC training that have bought jackets that are all far too big.

Get in to a shop and get a a member of staff to help size you up. Leather should be tight and not twist or shift. They will be stiff to begin with but will give with time just like a pair of new shoes.

Cheers...some sound advice there...Last time I was in a bike shop it didn't go well...The guy was a tit and made me feel like a noob even though I was and have been riding one week.

I will never go back to that shop again :(

I will see if I can get one of these local and try it on...

If the shops got a good range go back to it and just be sure to not have him help you.

I think they're quite well established as the name rings a few bells. Only recently got in to bikes myself in the past month or so.

Are you just after a jacket or trousers too? As the jackets tend to be short but if you get the trousers too they can be zipped together and all the armour is pulled in to place properly.

I wouldn't spend a fortune as if you have an off which is probably likely to happen soon if you're a new rider then trashing an expensive jacket won't be good.

Most dealers tend to have a range of MC wear so just have a wander round.

Think I am to buy myself some new leathers. When I passed 2 years ago I bought some Frank Thomas stuff in George White in their kinda outlet store, had a hole in the leg in next to no time, the stitching is a bit naff in places, leather tabs on the wrist collar things came off.
Got some Frank Thomas gloves that are showing wear on the thumb from indicatios and are generally quite poor as well.

Agree with who ever said about buying quality I mean that happened to mine just from sitting on a bike and using them to move about, god knows what it would be like if I did come off :s

Was looking at getting some RST stuff as some of theirs looks quite nice and from the bits I have seen instore appear better quality or at least better made and not as naff as my current ones.

I've just ordered RST 1120 & 1130 Rift 2 Piece leathers. £280 all in. They seemed pretty solid. I will write a review for a few bits of kit, more likely start a thread once I've been riding a little while for people to write reviews or thoughts on any bits of kit they pick up :)

Nice I will keep an eye out for that, I have been looking on that sportsbikeshop at these

RST Stunt Jean
RST Tractech Jacket
RST Razor Glove

In the end I got a BMW Freerider...This Jacket is just amazing love it. Doesn't scream Bike jacket. The amour is great and it fits great too.
