Bike tyres online

Pirelli Diable Corsa 3's, enough said really, you wont get much better for compromise of road grip and grip in the wet theyre excellent transformed my riding in the wet these things just grip and grip, well worth the £230 for them over the Bridgestone crap i had before lol :p

And how many miles do you expect them to last compared to the Bridgestones you had before?

Had it replaced last month and have now gone with an 020 up front as well as rear, 1000 miles in and I'm really pleased with how it handles both dry and wet.

I'm thinking this is the best route to go, as I have heard that the 021 on the back is fine, but a 021 on the front isn't great as compared to a 020 on the front.

Dont know, i changed my bridgestones before they even ran out, thats how unhappy i was with them, tbh tyres are the most vital part of the bike no matter how fast your engine is if you aint stuck to the road whats the point, id bet on them lasting 5k miles, but got lots of track days planned next year so i cant see them lasting long after doing that :p

reading up on them - they seem great! and yes, I just want what's best for the bike and my safety while tearing along on my 33bhp machine!!

Going to phone around and try to get a few prices on both of those tyre choices.

Hehe dont knock 33bhp its fun if you keep it at 33bhp everywhere :D
Theyre basically the same as the Micheline 2CT's theyre a dual compound tyre, once run in you will notice visible lines on the tyre, the middle of the Corsa 3's is a harder compound to last longer for motorway commuting miles and the sides are softer for cornering grip.
Also The Triumph Street Tripple i have borrowed had some Dunlop Tyres on them, and tbh i was quite pleased with them aswell not as much grip as my Corsa 3's (but then again i only felt them slipping when i had my knee down lol) and were surprisingly good in the wet aswell considering Dunlop dosent get rated as much as pirelli and Bridgestone.

I can't see any reason to buy 020s any more other than habit tbh, they're too expensive and they're outclassed, simple as that. Diablo Strada and Metzeler Roadtec offer better wet weather traction, better total traction, last longer and cost less. That's just speaking of ones I've tried and compared directly. IMO the 020 does nothing better than these 2 at all, they're even a fairly similiar profile.

For most of us, they give you more grip than you need, I've done trackdays on Roadtecs and while they weren't ideal they also weren't terrible. And on a cold wet winter's day, sport touring tyres can actually offer more grip than a sticky tyre- I commutted on Rennsports for a week last year and it was awful, vicious circle- they're greasy until they get warm, but I could never get them warm as they were too greasy. Then I put the same tyres on for a trackday and they were fantastic.

You'll find people that swear by, and at, every brand and model of tyre.

Personally I've tried 014's that I didnt like, 021's that I liked very much and Avon Viper sports, which were like glue but lasted just £1500 miles.

Theres no right and wrong - they are all awesome products and you just have to find the one that suits your bike and riding style the best

Well, an update of sorts to this thread. Decided against buying any tyres as my funds were running out aronud that time.

Now planning a trip to France for 12 days over Easter (late March) and the rear tyre is now in great need of a change - tread is all but gone.

Leaving it up to my local Yamaha dealer tomorrow to change the current 020's with either 021's or Diablo Strada's --- still yet to decide on which to go for, but it will no doubt come down to cost!

Once this has been done - it's new Arai helmet time! :D

Either of them will be fine, but im guessing the Diablo will be abit more money, have you looked into any of the new Continental Tyres? theyre getting good ratings for Sports tourers atm.
