Took the triple for its first MOT today and got 2 advisory's, one was for noisy exhaust and the other for front brake fluctuations.

Personally I don't think the exhaust is noisy at all.

Also had some Metzeler M7 RR's fitted, can't believe how nice it feels to have round tires.

Sv sold, got £1200 which was the least I would have took for it.

However on the ride to drop it off at his, speedometer was being wired and reading 0 then when I went under 40mph was reading fine. Then when I went over a bump it was working fine. So no idea. Told him about it and wasn't bothered.

Stress free now :)

Prob

Did you crash?

Its starting to get cold, I'll invest for some dainese trousers to go with my d-dry jacket. How do you peeps coupe with a smart shirt, trousers and shoes whilst going to work? Doesn't all of that clothing get all wrinkly under the motorcycle gear? I'll be riding in all weather, unless it snows like mad, which it probably won't. :p

I put it in a bag. My shoes live under my desk, I take a clean pair of trousers in on Monday and then a clean shirt in my bag in the mornings. Roll the shirt rather than fold and it's not too bad when I arrive.

No just skidded for a few seconds :p first time I've done it so got scared a little haha! :D

Shoes live at work, pair of jeans/trousers under my textiles and then non-iron shirts are amazing - they're all I have now.

Clovis where did you get your quick shifter for your 675? Did you wait for one to come up on eBay or?

Looking to get one, but not wanting to pay £300 odd. Is there a triumph forum to buy stuff from or?

On the Street Triple just close the throttle and upshift. It's really a waste getting one for the ST as the engine loves upshifting without the clutch.

The beauty of working in IT, jeans and T-shirt every day :D
I work in IT and still have to dress smartly... :(

Thanks all, I'll look into getting those 'non-iron shirts', any particular brand that you prefer?

You missed all the fun on the little 125! I use to slide in the rain when no cars on smaller roundabouts with my rear brake. :D I remember when I was 13, pouring rain and what did we do in summer? Rear brake and slide around a roundabout in industrial area. :p

I got mine from Ebay, paid £300 for it, loved it!

They really aren't a waste of time, try one before you dismiss them.

Too old to be messing around now :D

I'll be sticking a QS on the Tuono, partly because when you've ridden 300 miles and done your 100th hairpin bend, it won't matter when you fluff up a few gearshifts because you're tired.

Mostly, though, because they're great fun :D

I have!

They're awesome on the S1000R and V4R, but not that great on the ST. I've not tried another small engined bike with a QS so I don't know if it's specifically the ST or the smaller engines that makes them useless.

Explain to me how they aren't that great on the ST? Not having to let off the throttle at all while changing gear is awesome and the sound you get from doing so is addictive, they are much smoother than traditional shifting, it's just a pity you can't downshift with them!

You're only 26... I've a long list of thing I want to learn on a bike, not planning on becoming a stunter. But you can never have too much bike control. :p

27 in 3 months :p maybe if i get a 2 stroke 250 i'll have some fun on that, when i'm on a 900 i don't want to be messing around :D

You might want to buy one of those Honda automatics :p

On the Street Triple the engine braking is so light, gearbox is so good and it's engine is so free revving that clutchless gear shifts are incredibly easy on the bike.

That coupled with the ST QS being far less smooth than the V4R or S1000R make it a waste of money in my opinion. Doing it manually is smoother on the ST but not on the other two bikes I tried.

You should be getting the same sound when doing it yourself, it just takes an imperceptible amount of time more to do. Plus you feel like a boss doing it yourself ;)

If you like it then all the more power to you though!
