This was mine being done by allyearbiker

Would you recommend them? I nearly booked my new bike in, but instead bought some ACF50 and tried doing it myself.

Even though I put paper down, the floor was splattered with it and greasy , it was a pain in the ar*e to clean up. Also, I ended up having to use degreaser on the fairings to remove it from them, it seemed to leave black marks on there.

Without a thought, highly recommended. :)

If you forget the ACF50 bit it's worth it just for a proper deep clean. Mine before (I'd purposely let it get nice and dirty):

With the ACF50 they atomise it so it goes on in a mist, just a light covering. They cover the bike in sheets and apply it under the sheets :D and as it's a mist it gets in all the nooks and crannies.

I would imagine if you had a newer bike in better condition it'd come out looking like new.

Craig - how do you normally wash off the sdoc100, I presume you must use a jetwash/pressure washer as the stuff is so thick a normal hose doesn't do it :D Just buy the lance and some foam and you're away :D

Hmm, bike broke down last night again. Waited 2 hours for recovery, the put petrol in and it worked again... Until I went to ride home after having a drink. Had to push bike a mile to family's house in full leathers - knackered was not the word. Still has exactly same issue powers on but ignition doesn't work. So no I'm stuck 60 miles from home without a working bike. Lots to sort out today. Gutted :(

What bike is it?

Had some half asleep spanner try and move into my lane this morning, quick roll off the throttle and a nice exhaust growl and pop and she **** herself and quickly got back in her own lane :D

That sucks :( So that battery probably wasn't a dud?

If it is the SV there's a green connector block mounted under the tank on the front of the frame that is well known for burning out and it's the one that controls the ignition so you'll get power but nothing when you actually try and fire it up.

Check sv650.org forums and search for "green connector" there should be plenty of threads on there.

Either that or your rectifier/regulator is faulty, your just running off a full charged battery and the bike isn't charging it up

Can check it with a multimeter and the engine running, should be around 14v

@clovis I meant like a big car engine cleaning steam cleaner, mate had one at work it was good at shifting the dirt

What the actual **** is this response? They didn't even read the petition properly...

The Government held a public consultation on the proposed changes to the regulations governing the acquisition of a motorcycle licence in November 2009. After considering carefully all the views from the consultation, Ministers decided to implement the proposals set out in the consultation paper in January 2013. These changes ended automatic entitlement upgrades and introduced the requirement for younger riders to take an additional practical test before gaining access to larger, more powerful machines. Riders aged 24 and over can still take a test on a large motorcycle and gain access to unrestricted machines.

To relax the rules on motorcycle licensing would require a change in legislation; this is not something the Government is considering. To relax the rules would increase the risk of motorcyclists being killed or seriously injured. Motorcyclists have the highest casualty risk of all road user groups – they are 57 times more likely to be killed than a car occupant per passenger mile travelled. In the last five years 1,763 motorcyclists lost their lives on GB roads and the accident rate by distance travelled has not reduced over that period. Of all motorcycle incidents, casualties are most frequent among 16-20 year olds on low-powered motorcycles.

Edit: Makes sense, 'its hard to take a pig away from its trough, when you're pouring in more and more...'
Edit2: This petition doesn't even involve 16-20 year old's, its about 21-24 year old's! Such BS...

Yeah it's the Sv650 pointy. I don't know what to do tbh. Was supposed to be fixed yesterday they said they ran it through 3 passes of battery checks and what not. It cut out whilst I was driving along. Hopefully got someone to come have a look later on.

I'll give the garage a call see what they say.

2 colour paint job, silver bottom and green blueish top?

BTW I'll let you know on tuesday if I've passed, I'll probably be out all day on the bike. :D I need to service it this thursday or friday and sort out couple things.

Then you say Tuesday, do you mean today? Or next Tuesday?/
