To be fair, they had only just been released when I bought my 750 and the finance package on the 750 was pretty much unbeatable at the time.
Only cost me £500 in interest over 5 years and it got me back into biking at a reasonable cost to performance.
Insurance was around £120 a year.
I can't really fault the GSX-S 750 for local journeys and hooning around and the engine has a lovely roar at >6k.
The seat is firm though and after an hour you feel it.
Whoever buys it as my part ex will get a lovely bike with only 2.5k on the clock.

However, out with the old and in with the new, this time next week I will be like a kid at Xmas.

Friend of mine has one I give him a print of his bike I had taken down the coast few years back he got hit last year & was looking for another bike but ended up buying another he likes it that much.

Well, took the plunge and picking up next Thursday.
Here she is:-
Nice lovely bike. My advice having owned one for nearly two years now:

* swap out pads straight away (EBC HH)
* get better levers
* adjust the headlight as gauranteed it's running too high.
* don't bother with syncing the app it's absolutely useless and they will never update it.

Oh and ask anyone this and they will say the same : respect A mode as it literally wants to kill you. Fun in moderation but B is a good sweet spot 99% of the time.

So I had a moment today. After a long road trip (350 miles) about a mile from home front went really vague, like a puncture. Tyre was ok - limped her home, did a few checks, rocked the wheel and though Uh Oh! Whipped the front off, and found this..........someone somewhere loves me..........

Well here's a few pics from yesterday's trip from Reepham, then Fakenham & then King's Lynn to all meet up, then on to Matlock for a bite to eat, then over to The Cat & Fiddle then the ride home. Had a great trip, although we had a small fuelling issue en route & of course my bearing burst at the end. Turns out that the new Triumph Tiger does NOT run very well on diesel........... A great day with some top mates. We all use Mesh and the banter on the trip was brilliant if not relentless. My stomach hurts the most from laughing pretty much constantly. Fun times. One M1000R Four S1000Rs one Triumph Tigger and of course the real looker of the pack....... I think I ended up doing about ~400 miles

Saw a guy in Macclesfield yesterday on a 90s Superbike (couldn't tell the model), but he had a hoodie on with 'Marquez' written on it, jeans and sneakers protecting his legs. He was perhaps riding with a learner buddy on L plates on a 125. The learner had a Gopro too on the helmet. Good learning for the student I suppose.

I do admit I am not ATGATT when going to town centre about 0.5 miles away. Barring Motorcycle trousers (I wear jeans) I have everything ON. But I wouldn't do that if I was riding on roads going above 30 mph.

for the mechanically backwards among us (I cant be the only one...) - what had happened?

See the ring lying on the brake disc? That's the inner "race" which usually holds those little balls in place. The balls are what provide the wheel with the ability to rotate. As you can see in the pic, the balls are surrounded by chewed up metal, so they're no longer held in place and are in fact destroying the rest of the bearing. Had Hammy (that's what I call him now) not realised this sooner, that wheel would've locked up and caused one hell of a nasty crash. Here's a pic of what it *should* look like. The one on the left is a ball bearing as pictured in the above photo:

Just spent £700 to get the old gal through her MOT :(

New Chain and Sprocket set (much needed)
New Front Tyre
New Starter Motor (old one was on the verge of giving up the ghost)
Service
MOT and Labour

Rides like a new bike now though, perfect for the daily commute down the A47 :D

I feel like this thread deserves a pin after 9 years of existence, when I first created it, I didn't think it would become this popular! I see loads of unfamiliar nicknames compared to when we had a whatsapp chat with less than 10 people in and everyone knew eachother to the point that we reached out when someone was inactive for x amount of time.

Edit: Does anyone know how @wazza300 is doing? I reached out to @Kreeeee not too long ago, based on anothers members thread. We had a nice litte community, I'm aware that life happens and it's not always possible to stay in touch.. :(
Hey, I'm still here. I just don't post much these days.

My nephew just passed his Mod 1 today with no advisories and has his Mod 2 next week. He's already looking at bikes and is off to see a Tiger 800 (almost identical to mine) at the weekend.

Sell him yours and buy the Speed Triple

(You know you're thinking it :D)
