Bikers Youtube thread

Yeah, but there was so much traffic there isn't anything interesting, most of it is just filtering through...

I've a small cut out when the exhaust pops, crackles and shoots flames (don't have a 2nd camera to catch that unfortunately though)

have you checked your exhaust joints for any air leaks mate? dont think them pops and crackles are normal.

Its normal, I've spoke to couple other people who have this exhaust without the baffle. When you put the baffle in, the pops and crackles stop. ;) Its mostly when you're using engine braking and you're down in the revs on slightly downhill road that it pops, it doesn't do it every time you use engine braking though. A series of pops and crackles like on that video happens rarely... I did around 300 miles so far and it happened 2 or 3 times.

BTW No air leaks either.

I did consider ripping out the pair system and blanking off the holes until I got to the bit that said it kills the pops and bangs, no thank you!

You'll soon get to know exactly what revs/conditions produce the pops and crackles, mine is around 6500rpm down to 5000rpm when engine braking, if I keep it in this rev range and just into VTEC at 7000rpm it's just endless gunfire :D

Fairly high revs for a while, then come off the throttle for a bit gives some nice pops & crackles :D

I also want to try the backfire trick on a carb bike, where you hit the kill switch, then when you turn it back on it'll explode :D

Yeah mine does it with the baffles in when I come off the throttle anywhere above 10k or so.

Also when rev matching during down shifting and then using the engine braking makes some lovely noises too.

Is that just with the Yi mic? Sounds good

LMAO that 4th gear bog. Great gearbox on that beast :D ......Then I saw the crash.....Hows that pelvis? I think that kid soon realised he isn't indestructible and that he has done himself some serious damage.

Did you have to endure a 43 minute video on why a bike pops?

He has some great educational videos, but damn, most of them are far too long.
You know what's funny? I've never watched the whole video, I usually skip the BS. But he does give some good tips for newbies like me! :p:D

Keep the pops & crackles :D
I'll!

3-4.5k 3rd gear and rolling down a hill, love it. :D

I want to try that too, but even my SV being so old it has FI. :o

Yep, I've some footage of faster riding. But I would have to blur out the speedo. :p

That's the best video I've seen all year :D no need for the steering to be locked to the right, if he'd just angle the bike slightly in the direction he was turning he'd have no problem.
