Bikers Youtube thread

Well saved that man

Cold tyres I'm guessing? They take ages to warm up in this weather.

That's one good thing about a 400 as a commuter in the cold/wet, not enough power down low to spin the rear up.

Looks more like a fist full of throttle on the white paint to me, but you can't really tell from a video.

As said though, it's happened to us all :)

There wasn't any white paint where he rode ;) It was just as he was giving the throttle a tickle, but it would have been pretty amazing if he could get the rear tyre to spin without some throttle :p

It looked like there could have been some oil or something on the road, looks a little 'spotty' but I'm still saying cold tyres. Even a set of supercorsas would take miles to heat up when it's near freezing.

It sounded like the rear spun up a little just because of the timing of the slip and the rev, if it was just a panic clutch in moment then there must have been something on the road, there's no way even cold tyres should slip under that little throttle. How far into your commute was it? Maybe some ice/oil/diesel/a combination.

This.

Some junctions, this time of year, lorries constantly pulling out onto main roads and have water laying on the tops of the bodies/trailers spilling off onto the road, leading to black ice on junctions, mix that with a bit of loose gravel on those filter lanes and you've got a nasty slippery hazard waiting to catch you out.

Any one of us could fall foul of that at anytime.

Ok, I'll bite

No paint & bike only revved because I was still using the clutch (pulling out) so when the bike slipped my hand moved on the lever...

No need to bite, you forgot to quote the second part of my post which shows you I'm not picking any faults.

It's a bit strange that you deleted that part and chose to react strongly though =/
