Bikers Youtube thread

@edd1e, nice montage, how long did it take you to edit?

Along time, about 7hrs. I was doing about 30mins every few nights. I started about 3 weeks ago. It's looking through hours and hours of footage to find some good clips which takes the time, and then timing it to the music like i did. :)

It sounded like the rear spun up a little just because of the timing of the slip and the rev, if it was just a panic clutch in moment then there must have been something on the road, there's no way even cold tyres should slip under that little throttle. How far into your commute was it? Maybe some ice/oil/diesel/a combination.

Yeah there's a petrol station to the left and off another roundabout there, it has never been a great junction.

I was literally down the road from work so yep, tyres cold.

Barely any throttle coming out, I know what this time of year is like! The rev was just my hand changing position on the lever due to the slip - I'm not that silly that I'd give it that much petrol through that corner! :D

Any bike or moped would have slipped on whatever it was. Looking back at the video it does look a bit spotty there, but it's always been like that as far as I remember.

need to ride faster kreeeee (its a SPEED triple)

you need a man friend, they don't complain when on the back;) and yeah id hate the windblast too,too open without a fairing and screen imo

give it me though ill take it off your hands:D

EDIT: it always feels weird/bogged down with a pillion on no matter what bike you have, you soon get used to it though and compensate for it with throttle/braking ect

He has the Street which is 675cc I think, no idea on fuel.

My Speed is 1050cc and can get around 60mpg on longer trips, but averaging 40mpg on my shorter commuting trips.

Speaking of pillions, my Speed handles them so well. Had my fat arse brother on the back and barely noticed - it's the first time carrying a pillion hasn't been a nasty experience.

He only has the street triple, not the speed ;)

Decent semi-review, basically great for solo twisties, but not for much else :D

I too love the naked wind blast in the summer and as a licence saver, but would want a fairing when doing long distance or in the winter.

Was bored at lunch today so was looking at routes to get down to switzerland in a day, Calais Eurotunnel to Biel/Bienne is 465miles/750km and 7 hours + stops. Doable, easily - early train and in France by 08:30 local time (07:30 UK time) - and in the mountains by 4pm, but I wouldn't want to do that on my cb400, or a street triple.

ahh I don't know

they are a nice machine though,i don't really suffer with carrying pillions on my zx6r,you feel them for sure but you get used to that

i wouldn't mind a run round those roads either, looks stunning

It's a Street Triple, a Speed would be a bit pants on the mountain roads.

That particular area of that mountain pass is a 50kmh limit due to the number of deaths, so no hooning there unfortunately.

It gave me a chance to think and talk about the bike though :)

There are literally hundreds of other mountain passes that are just as beautiful without the strict limit, and when you get to ride them every day you don't need to thrash it around every one.

i was just teasing you, ride how you want to

its nice to pootle around and absorb the sights instead of thrashing it everywhere

it was a nice vid

I swear I'm going to loose my license soon for road rage when I end up dragging some retarded drivers out their vehicle.... one of many clips I have of stupid/ignorant people on my daily commute, think I should make a end of year compilation :p
