Bikers Youtube thread

There is loads of places in Wales that does training for enduto if you're not sure if you like it. I posted one a page or two ago.

Is that you riding ConTRo13R?

Clean your camera :p

And that happens a lot round here as well. They also like to pull out on roundabouts - there's one on the way home with no markings and the lane to go on to the roundabout from my left is quite far in to the roundabout if you know what I mean, so cars always feel like they can just pull out for some reason.

This happens to me even when I'm driving a car lol. You can prevent this even further by holding back from the vehicle that's turning and mnoving closer to the centre white line so they see you quicker.

Out of interest were there any cars behind you?

I do that, if i'm behind a van I'll always peek out one side to see if there's someone waiting to turn and to allow them to see me.

I also slow down if there's a line of traffic and a junction on the other side of the road, that's a ripe scenario for people pulling out without checking.

Oh i anticipated it, its daily, 4 times today, that ambulance was responding to a crash that was caused by someone pulling out of a junctoin just 2 miles back, just seems more so this time of year and with road conditions i thought a friendly reminder might go a long way.

Yeah a few pips can always help. It's strange how people look harder after that....just in case they are about to get hit by a car

It really is ridiculous the amount of times people think its acceptable because a vehicle is turning that the road behind that vehicle is clear, absolutely moronic, and not just talking from bike experience, in the car you see it all the time too.

Anyone else had a look at the Microsoft Hyperlapse software? its quite fun, a few test videos I tried out earlier, I appreciate with these sorts of videos it needs some music overlay or something, but they are only short.

from 45seconds I was scared at the speed on coming traffic was heading your way haha.

Do you have a total time in a car and on the bike to compare?

My commute isn't that long but one round about in a car you can sit for up to 15 minutes barely moving. On the bike its maybe 2-3minutes wait.

Haha yeah it looks dodge, but the camera is mounted lower so with my own eyes I can see when the traffic is coming and don't do anything risky into oncoming traffic.

I think its on average 20-25 mins on the bike, its at least double in the car, in the summer when the schools are off I can do it in under 15.

I know One, I would rather get the train than take the car, getting into Winchester is a nightmare.

How far is your commute? I do 17 miles which takes 45 minutes on a normal day on a bike. I'd love a 20-25 minute commute :D When it's quiet/schools are off it's 35 minutes door to door.

In a car it's an hour, easy. Sod that.

Not far, about 7 and a half miles, just some of the worst traffic around here, the M3 in the day video is unusually quiet, usually thats slow moving every morning.

The annoying thing is my journey from home to the start of Winchester is 5 miles, it takes the same time to get to there as it then does to do the final 2 miles into work.
