If you'd have said 'he sets his gopro up so the footage it captures makes it look like he's riding faster than he is' I'd have no problem with that 
 Superview also does this very well, makes slow riding look mega fast.
Saying that someone has modified or edited an image/video to make it look like it does is seen as a bit of an insult to a decent photographer though, that's my point.

Although, technically, pretty much ALL images captured by a camera are manipulated in some way from what the human eye sees, with framing/cropping etc.
