Bill Gates divorce

I mean we have charities sat on hundreds of millions yet they tell us £5 could save a life. Doesn't add up really.

I think generally they want to encourage people to donate whatever they can, a lot of people will donate more than £5. You seem a bit hung up on money, maybe just focus on yourself and worry less about how much money other people have because you absolutely cannot change that.

Its not about the donation amount dont you understand that? Are you the Oxfam CEO or something

Perhaps she disagree's with his using the COVID 19 vaccines to put nanites into people so he can control them....

Because the chairties, and the directors of those charities, make a fortune from us. If Bill ended it all then their gravy train would end.
Ah yes must be this. Let's just ignore that fact that he's so wealthy that the money just prints itself, recent estimates have it around $10 million a day for doing absolutely nothing.

Cant be trying very hard? Why do we get adverts to donate £5 to end hunger or water shortage in Africa? Surely old Bill could end it all with a few billion?

Despite him already giving billions to charitable causes, you'll always get stupid comments where it's never enough.

Indeed pretty confident that of the top 10 billionaires, he's the only one to given billions to charity, I'm also fairly sure he has already stated his fortune will go to charity when he dies, with only a small fraction to his children as he thinks they should earn their living and not be handed it.

Maybe that's why they are getting a divorce, so she can protect her fortune, while he gives his away.

He makes in the region of $456k per hour, apparently.

Except it’s not ‘real money’. Most of his wealth is tied up in investments and assets (like Microsoft shares). It’s not cash in the bank and you can’t use it until they are actually sold which is harder said than done. The same applies for all of the ultra rich like him.

You can’t easily access such large shareholding’s because if you dump them all in the market, the price will crash and all that ‘wealth’ disappears.

It requires careful management to even realise the wealth and then do something with it. Even then, selling so many shares over a long period could reduce the price (think supply and demand).

If you think charities are such a gravy train then go start one or join one

Pretty naive to think people understand that basic concept and how it controls the entire free market. "Hurr durr Bitcoin isn't real why is it worth anything lol"

That isn't the point really, he's claimed for donkeys years he is going to give most of his wealth away but it hasn't happened.

Not true either, I think Jeff Bezos tops the list in 2020 he gave over $10billion to help tackle climate change.

So, you have a problem that he hasn't given enough billions to charity yet? LMAO

Alright m8 now you're taking the *****

jeff should be giving to climate change, amazon is the biggest single threat to the climate

Amazon is fulfilling the demands of the market, if it wasn't Amazon doing it then another company or multiple companies would. The "threat to the climate" is just humans existing and wanting things.

No, they 'pledged' that but it hasn't happened. In fact since 2010 his net worth has more than doubled.

Basically a good analogy is that you're complaining the value of someone's house has gone up over 10 years, even though they've pledged to give away the value of that house. The value of Microsoft has gone up, so his "net worth" has gone up. His net worth is largely tied to Microsoft shares. If he wanted to "realise" that wealth by selling his shares, Microsoft's "value" would sharply drop along with his "net worth". Do you actually understand any of this? It's fine if you don't but just please stop talking rubbish.

Are they worth the paper they're written on? I've heard some awful stories about the woman taking more than was initially agreed because "her lifestyle necessitated it" or "things were different when the pre-nup was signed".

In the UK yeah they're a bit useless, but in the US I think they carry a bit more weight. Maybe not 100% watertight but certainly taken into consideration.

You do realise he can donate shares? If you don't understand that then fine but please stop talking rubbish.
