Bios settings on rig being built as i type this!

i'm presuming htey're PATA ones and not SATA ones. Put them on Master and Slave and connect the master one up if your only using one at the mo.

Do you mean 4 yellow and 2 red? looking at the manual and it reckons you only have 6 sats ports. The different colours represent which controller you use for sata/raid. seeing as how your not using raid, (atlest I don't think you are) it doesn't really matter. The red are controlled by the gigabyte controller and ther yellow is controlled by the intel. I haven't read any revies on either but you probably wouldn't notice the difference. It doesn't matter which one you plug them into but i'd go for the intel as it is probably more universally recognised, (the yellow one).

I've run out of stuff to watch so i'm off to bed, good luck with the rest of your build, should be plane sailing from now on.

Hi All, as i we going through the build last night, i thought i was being a bit too concerned with all the questions i was asking-but just wanted to get everything correct as its been at least 5 years since i last attemted building anything!
BUT-by the end of it it-even i thought it would be a good step by step read at the very least!!,
Well.......thanks to all involved-even in other areas before i even bought components, and special thanks to Edward01.

I got all the bits in, turned it on and ..........(wait for it)...............

MOBO SCREEN!!!!! (hit DEL) BIOS SCREEN!!!!!
changed the time and date, and then realised how tired i was!!

SO IT DID WORK, AND WILL BE BACK HERE TOMOZ AFTERNOON ASKING WHAT MY BIOS SETTINGS SHOULD BE????
Then hopefully installing everything
i took a quick look after about 15 mins of looking throuh the rest of bios at the Temperatures, system was about 35-37, cpu 24-25, and i had the hsf fan set to half on the dial about 2400rpm (is this ok?)

so again thanks-and thanks for reading in, i'm off to work!

just to clarify-in the zalman fan pic on page 2 of this thread-the air would be blowing down as in throught it and straight down in the position its in -in that pic? as ive done the case fan so it would like the pic from inside the case-but feels like its bringing air in (maybe)

gotta dash

yay it works, fantastic. Those temps look good, no problem with them.

Yeh in that pic the air should be coming in from the top and out the bottom, but you have got me doubting me self now. If in doubt take the case fan out the holder, turn the comp on and put your hand infront of it, definatly be able to tell then. Be carefull you touch the fins well they're spinning tho as they are very delicate and break off easily.
