bios update help

Which bit are you struggling with now?

I take it you've not updated the BIOS yet?

Note down all your current BIOS settings then you can put them back in again when/if you update the BIOS.

If the motherboard allows you to save the settings to a profile you can do that as well but usually these are wiped when you update the BIOS.

ok so ive just checked bios again ive been going by dates

i have 1238 but its dated 09/30/2008 <<< is that the date of bios or date it was last updated. very confusing cause same (1238) but different dates
 
The latest BIOS is 1238 on the Asus website and is dated 2009.02.11.

That's the file I'd be using.

I wouldn't worry about the date of the file.

If you download the one from the Asus website then I can't see how you can go wrong.

If your system works now (with whatever BIOS settings you have) then those are the settings you need to put back in after you've updated the BIOS.

I forget why you wanted to updtate the BIOS.

Unless it's for a specific reason then leave it.
