Only a score and a brief comment from PC Gamer:-

90% - "the mechanics that made the original BioShock such fun return, better than before," and "it's still better written than pretty much anything else out there."

Source.

Anyone seen anything else?

Tbh i didn't think much of the first one, i got bored after a couple of hours.
i've attempted to play it again since but around the same time it just gets horribly repetitive

I've never managed past the first hour of the first one :(

Always do my gaming in fits and starts but i've never gone back to Bioshock after the first session.

I thought the first one was brilliant, but then I'm one of the few who haven't played System Shock 2, so I'm really looking forward to this one. What's the release date for the game does anyone know?

I've got to agree completely with this, as it was hyped so muc when I got round to playing it it failed to bring anything new to the table for me.

Same here. I've tried to play it twice but got bored quickly each time. The design and presentation is incredible, but the rpg elements put me off - cheap way of slowing down the action. Its a personal thing. I'm an impatient git when it comes to fps so I prefer more simple run n gun frag fest affairs such as HL2 etc where I dont have to think much :p

System Shock 2 demo is available if you google it. Just make sure you run it on only one cpu core. I really enjoyed it, probably gonna grab one from somewhere then use the latest texture packs on it to breathe some life in to the visuals.

Seems to be a trend that people who waited several months to play Bioshock, didn't like it. I played it on release and thought it was great. The level design was top notch. Sure the RPG elements felt a bit tacced on, but who cares, it's a great FPS anyway. Maybe it didn't age well or something.

I quite liked Bioshock, pretty good game but will wait on the second game, either for a demo and / or other peoples' opinions, will weigh it up before I part with the cash.

As somebody else mentioned, I just didnt get into the first one, then again I never got into System Shock 2 either... Is it worth giving this one a try if I didnt finish the first?

So did they eventually sort out the weird mouse look acceleration bug in the first one? Anyone who bought or played it recently? I know it was in the steam sales. I'm just worried that it might be more of the same in the second one.
I thought it was very overrated too, all flash and no substance. Not much game behind the glossy exterior. Got bored before I finished it. Would give the second one a go though, it can only be better.
