Bioshock Infinite - any good or should I sell my code?

I loved BI, the story and setting was fun. Combat was enjoyable I kept mixing my weapons up and trying to find new ways to use the specials etc, and attacking from the skyrails never seemed to get old. Level design was perhaps a little bland, but there where nice hidden areas which I felt added well to the game.

Surprised by the amount of people who disliked it, thought it was a really good game, maybe not GOTY but certainly a very solid and enjoyable story driven FPS.

The combat sometimes gets a little bit repetitive but I can't think of an FPS that hasn't at points felt repetitive to me, and found the story engrossing throughout.

I'm surprised by the criticism of the art design. Thought it was fantastically designed and perfectly represented what they were going for. It didn't have the atmosphere that the first one had, but that was obviously intended.

In answer to your question I would definitely play :)

Is it worth pointing out that the OP replied (post number 10) that he is going to give it a go, and we're all still trying to convince him.

Aside from that, I think we're probably all just repeating what we've already said in the main thread.

Agree with most of the comments here, combat was ok, but preferred the plasmids of 1&2, liked collects adam and buying the plasmids. The gameworld is beautiful, don't think i've played a prettier game.

But the story leaves a lot to be desired.

Initially yes, the art design is absolutely glorious, no argument from me there. And then it changes, and spends most of the game feeling rather dull and drab in comparison.

I've just got a code for this, and I was debating whether to give it a blast or just sell it on.
There seems to be quite a few negative comments, but seeing as I've never played a Bioshock game before, I think I'll keep the code and give it a try. At the end of the day I'd only get a fiver or something for it anyway, so it's gotta be worth it even to just see what it's like :)

Play it for sure, it is a good game, infact I can see the argument for it being GOTY more than I can see why people would call it a 'bad' game, I just happen to fall somewhere between the two as do quite a few others.

I'd say play it. Although there are a fair few negative comments here I think its just that situation where most people only post if they don't like something. On the whole most people loved this, a metacritic score of 94 and user rating of 8.5 must say something.

94/100 metascore on steam. I'd put it at around 94/100 myself, really good game that I thoroughly enjoyed. Any game that I can't stop thinking about for a few days after is good in my book.

The combat is also enjoyable if you make use of the plasmids etc and experiment with combining them. I don't know what else people want from the combat. Some more weapons and weapon slots is the only thing I would have liked.

Only played the game for a few hours so far and have to say I’m a little disappointed.

Aside from the set piece moments, the combat mechanics are not great and there doesn’t seem to be too much variety in the combat.

Ditto. Massively overrated.

Over-rated isn't really a *thing* it's basically not liking something that's popular.

To the OP, I'd say just play it since you won't get much for it anyway. It was going pretty cheap at launch even.

I technically paid negative £2 for mine because Green Man Gaming did a bundle for anyone who pre-ordered Bioshock Infinite and I sold the games from the bundle for more than I paid for the bundle in total. :p

How long (minutes) does it take to move from one area to another? Is it easy to tell when you'll move to another area?

Completely depends on your machine, mine took about 10 seconds to load a new area, and it is easy to tell as there is a loading screen. :p

Usually you have to go through a big door to a new zone, only took a few seconds to load between zones and you'll get a quick loading screen up so you know for sure.

uninstalled it after 20mins not sure why....maybe for space or something... it does look great graphics wise.. will have to try it again....

20 minutes, honestly if you're only going to give a game 20 minutes I don't really see the point in installing it to start with.

Regarding the various comments about the auto save, I'd rather have the ability to save when I want but at no point did I find it an issue, just in case that's really putting some people off.
