BioShock System Specs Revealed

I hope it is scary, when Doom 3 came out i played it in a dark room with head phones on and didn't scare me, made me jump a few times but thats it

Am I the only one who had read nothing to suggest that this was DX10 compatible before now? Good news though as it is something I've been wondering :)

sorry for the noobish question but im a little confused. I know my X1950 256mb PRO is a really powerful card but there it says you need 512mb RAM to run it on high ??? Will my X1950 be able to handle it @ 1440 X 900 on mid - high ??? or will i need a card with more RAM cheers.

Quite happy with those specs, know at least I can run it on high settings :) Although not happy at the fact you need the internet for activation, sucks for people that play their games on machines which aren't online.

X1950 Pro isn't 'really powerful', that description belongs to an 8800 GTX :D , but I know what you're saying, X1950 Pro is a decent card, and I'm sure it'll give you a good experience with Bioshock. 1440*900, mid-high, 0xAA 8xAF, you should be ok. Of course no one is going to know for sure until it's released.

Hmm interesting to see an 8600GT recommended, Hopefully I can play in relativelly high with no AA/AF on 1024/768 when I make my new pc in august :P

yea thanks lol, yea the x1950 pro is still a great card

guessing that its another game where its going to be more ram dependant than most other things (for playability rather than graphicaly "OOO-ness"

1950Pro 256mb should be able to run it with just textures set to medium and maybe with only 2x AA.

Going with educated guesswork only here though.

So is Bioshock actually using Direct X 10 then? If it is I think now might be the time for me to get Vista and that extra 2GB of RAM

I dont see what the fuss is about thoes recommended specs they aint that high at all. I so cant wait to play this game it looks great, and finally maybe an actually scary game since system shock 2 :)

Well that will do me fine if thats the case!

I don't see what the issue is against internet activation personally. I mean who uses a PC that's not connected to the internet these days anyway?

I'm all for helping anything that can help against piracy (which is rife on the PC),

bah blah needs internet connection blah blah not happy....... Why?

See I still don't understand this attitude - if your not going to steal it whats the problem? I'm sure someone is going to lie and say they don't have their gaming PC connected to the web for "security reasons", but I think we all know thats bulls**t

That aside can't wait!

Why? Because it's mainly an offline game and, if like a few of my Flight Simming mates, you have a decent PC for gaming that isn't connected to t'internet then you can't play the game!

I don't mean to uncover any veiles of illusion anybody has, but more often than not, i've found recommended specs can't actually allow you to play at high settings with a decent resolution.

Um I dont, I use my family PC downstairs for net and work. AT uni i have it connected but i wont be at uni when this is out, so either i'll have to buy an extra long cable or take my pc downstairs just to install it
