Hey guys,

Just been wondering really, what with the release date looming and all. What version to get?

My spec is in my sig.

I'd like the 360 version coz it'd be on a 32" HD Samsung, but it's just the aiming with a controller can drive me mad and it may be "dumbed down".

Whereas, on the PC, aiming is a doddle, but its a smaller screen and may not run as well etc

I want to have an immersive experience with it either way, as i loved the old system shock games when i was a kid, number 2 scared the bejebus out of me!

Looking at your spec all you need is to spend a bit of money on a new Graphics card and it will run like a dream on your rig ;)

I'd still get it on your PC even without a new graphics card :)

I'm in the same position :( 360 or PC ...

What I've decided, is to get a demo for the PC and see how well it runs. If it doesn't run well, I'll get it on 360 and put up with the aiming. After all, it will have counter-measures for the bad aiming.

For me PC is about performance intensive, competitive gaming. Consoles feel more laid back, and I find them more immersive.

The above and the fact that they're actually designing the controls/gameplay differently for each platform leaves me with no doubt I'll be getting it on 360.

hes got near the same spec as me, and im getting it for the pc and i bet it will play it at max settings with high fps. Your better off with the pc version mate :)

I read in the PCGamer review that it runs smooth on a X2 5200 with a 8800GTS using max settings at 1600x900. Shouldn't run too bad on a X1900 I wouldn't have thought. I say go for the PC version! :D

he is right pcgamer were playing it on a low spec machine with all the whistles and bells on :)

PC *** :D

dont worry about the controller, bioshock isnt fast paced like CSS where you need a mouse and keyboard, games like bioshock are fine on controller, if i had a 360 i would definatly get it on that, but still i should be able to run dx10!

As you only have a 32" TV I'd imagine that while it will be bigger than your monitor, it will likely be lower resolution than your monitor.

If the interface is anything like System Shock 2 (effectively like a FPS) then it's pretty much a given that you will want to be using mouse+keyboard.

I'd imagine the PC version will be cheaper too...

I'm exactly the same, it's more relaxing kicking back and playing on a HDTV than hunched over a PC.

even though my e6400 is at stock, at 1440x900 do you reckon i would be able to nearly max it? With AA only at 2x?

I think you'll be able to max it right out

That seems a bit strange to me. In general I'd say that 'competitive' gaming is far more 'immersive' than 'laid back' gaming.

Or in other words, the kind of lazing around on the couch messing about on a console is less serious, you know you are playing a game and do not get so immersed in it, maybe chatting to people at the time. Whereas competitive PC gaming consumes your thoughts (during play) and you are 100% focussed on it.

I'm not saying everyone should feel the same as me, but that's my take on it.

Ah right I should have been clearer.

I mean I feel more immersed in the storyline, more within the game's atmosphere. With multiplayer games yes PC can draw you right in due to razor-sharp controls but sitting down on a sofa brings a cinematic quality to gaming that I don't get from PC's much.

i think it depends what games you play.
I played EQ for 7 years and i played it almost all the time apart from work and sleep and that immersed me at the time.

but sitting down on a sofa brings a cinematic quality to gaming that I don't get from PC's much

That lost me complety
