Surprised to see the video says its at RAF Marham, given thats still a fully operation RAF Tornado base I'm surprised they open it to driving days - so much potential for things to go wrong resulting in debris/oil/general crap being spread all over the runways which would cause a hell of a FOD risk!

It isn't as uncommon as you would expect. Whilst this, from what I've read, looks like a speed run rather than a track day I know of similar things happening. The JCB Diesel power speed testing was carried out at RAF Wittering (not suprising when you discover Andy Green is stationed there!). I was on base when they did one of the speed runs but it blew a tire after reaching a whole 30mph >link< RAF Valley were organising a trackday for bikes. RAF Cottesmore has raced a Harrier against an Audi Diesel Le Mans car, Mission Implausible have filmed a car challenge at RAF Conningsby to name a few.
