Bird opinion

I'd give the cat a kicking and watch the bird from a distance. Put some water and food nearby so that it can hop over if it wants them.

If it hasn't flown off within an hour, take it to the vet.

After considering some quite sick posts, most of which made me hungry, I've decided to tell you to kill it. It was her fault for going on Big Brother anyway.

I wish I knew where I was.

after getting a lecture over it being a seroius criminal offense to disturb a nest

I find that really quite funny, lecturing the person that was humane enough to phone for the correct advice, as it was an accident. I can see that charge standing up in court...

Well when I come across a situation where the Dev [God] has nerfed a bird I decide to stick it in a box with some chicken feed and water then take the old girl down to the RSPCA. :)

Caught my cat playing with a mouse before now, mouse was fine but sat near the cat like in your pic not moving because if it did the cat would play/pounce more, mouse just decided it was safer to stay still can imagine the bird was just doing the same not wanting to excite/provoke the cat

afaik a cats vision is based on movement, if the mouse/bird stays still the cat will either get bored, or realise it actually needed a snack afterall

Anyways, i was in a similar situation. I had the bird in my hand, and when i put it down it refused to fly. I picked it up again, wondering whether it was borked - so decided to put it in the front garden away from the cat and let it makes its own choice...

You should have kept it in your hand, and at least doubled the value... I'm not too up to date of "Bird in the Air" prices, but I KNOW that a "Bird in Hand" is double a "Bird in Bush".

Also, lol at borked bird.... /snigger

Some very nice posts in here  Phone RSPCA tbh although this thread is two days old :o

I think you'll find the RSPCA will refer it to the RSPB and they will put the OP straight through to the "give a ****" department where he can get advice from a Bleeding Heart technician...
