If anyone that is familiar with Birmingham Airport or has picked anyone up from there could you help me out?

I have to pick up my mum and sis next week from the airport but looking at google maps i am struggling to find where the pickup area is. There seems to be car parks 1, 2 and 3 which say Pickup on the signs surrounding but then they seem to go to the NCP car parks and i am unable to see a pickup area.

Also I will be traveling from Derby so A38. past the Belfry and M42 (Missing M6 toll if possible) is there a services close to the airport that i can parkup until they land so i can make my way towards them for a quick pickup.

Any help would be appreciated :)

I don't think free pickups are available now. Last time I was picked up from the airport, they had to pay to park in the car park, and I walked over to them.

Most people park on the island/slip road just near the final "entrance" to the airport. Then when you get the call, drive in - it'll cost a fiver IIRC.

Its about 5 or 6 quid, rip off! I usually goto the Esso petrol station about half hour after I have to pick family up...

But you have to pay to use this pick up /drop off car park.
if you have an EV and use the chargers it will only cost you £2 for 90 minutes.

Not free. and for god sake don't "wait there"

Do not park unless you want to be robbed in daylight...

Use the drop off section (on the left as you approach) the first 15 or 20 mins are free (can't remember the exact amount) that's were I parked to pick my brother up in November. Its about a 5 minute walk form the main airport building.

It’s not a good system really. “Premium set down” is the closest but you have to pay just to drop off or pick up. That and having to pay for the luggage trollies always grate in what’s otherwise quite a good airport.

@m4rmite - I had no idea it was that pricey! Absolutely ridiculous!

Make the most of it, there's every chance picking women up will be all but illegal soon...

(OK, I am getting my coat already, calm down....) ;)

OK there is another drop off part that has 20 minutes free.
@Nursie i think this is the car park you mean.
prices on that link - much cheaper than the premium car park

Use the car park on your left as you enter the airport ring road, you get 20 minutes free.

I know because I used it Monday.

Great thanks for the info everyone. Looks like I might not need it now as they might be heading home on Sunday and flying into Bristol and my older sister is going to pick them up. If that changes I will certainly use the tips.

Thanks Everyone for the advice. I think i am going to pick them up from Birmingham International Station looks like you can get 20 mins free so will find somewhere near by to park up and then they can call me when on the monorail and i can head towards them. Any recommendations on where to park nearby? Is there a maccys, costa, starbucks or services within 10 mins of the station?

BTW it will be 6.30am if that makes a difference.

Also is there any facility to put luggage trolleys on the monorail?
