Birmingham town center what a crap hole.

There are at least 8 in the Arndale centre alone next to me ;)

Trust me, Stafford is as sleepy as little towns come.

I wouldnt mind, but bar the centre, the architecture you speak of is non existent, some of the most horrible late victorian terraces are around that area.. I know.. I lived in em.

Only place I have EVER parked in the UK where my car has had bits ripped off it 5 times in a year...

Being a student there sucked too as the locals hated you, when I was there the RAF base was still open too, so the RAF meatheads hated you too.. never forget when I found a RAF guy stumbling home fly kicking peoples wing mirrors off because "******* students are worse than Hitler" (pretty sure thats the quote).

"I'm in Stafford, get me out of here"

Eight you say. :D If any of them sell retro games and I can get there easily from stoke I'm there.

There's too many words in this thread's subject :p

I like to write a story in the titles normally. :p

My sympathies lol

edit: Mind you, Ronnie Scotts...

It closed and turned into a strip joint.

The problem isn't that there aren't bins, it's that they're not emptied and are always full to overflowing.

Birmingham has a bad rep, but I've been in the area for the last 10 years and even back then it was fine, even better now with all the redevelopment work that has gone on in that time (just need to sort Digbeth out now, along with the ghost town that is most of New Street since the Bullring opened). Agreed, the people aren't as friendly as in the Black Country, but a darn sight more so than down south.

I've been passenger a couple of times driving through Birmingham.. don't take this the wrong way, but like the OP I was wondering if I'd gone to a different part of the world as there were just loads and loads of black people! I can't remember seeing a single white person  was a year or two ago though..

Was there a while ago for a gig, and I too thought at a few points "What Country is this?".

Nowhere near as bad as London's West End in the evening. I'm always really shocked by that. It's like as soon as the sun disappears it turns into Nigeria.

I lived very close to it for 6 years, and the bad reputation has been well earned.

Bristolians are infinitely more friendly than Brummies, and I'll sorely miss that when I leave.

been in birmingham for all my life 34 years, its a **** hole and its getting worse, when i get married im moving out of birmingham purely to get away from the pakistani scum and the immigrants

Here in Manchester looks like paradise compared to Birmingham, and York seems like a paradise compared to Manchester.

Both of Mcr and Birmingham are both **** holes, only + for brummy land is chocolate heaven (cadburys)

Yep, and they're all bloody Port Vale fans too! Stoke here too by the way. :)

i love the home fan only signs pubs put out on matchdays. I know they must be in other places but i havent seen them anywhere else for years :p

btw Burlsem > Stoke especially fri / sat nights

I like Birmingham :).

I work right in the centre and there is a mix of people, mainly white people and I don't see why it should matter what colour they are or not!

I'm friendly so come say hello!
