Does anyone else totally hate them? Not sure I really want a day long reminder that I’m getting older and so is everyone else. I feel like it gets worse every year.

I don't mind the fact I'm getting older, but I don't really care about my birthday nor do I like parties for my birthday. Being centre of attention just isn't me.

It's the first day i book off every year, either book a nice holiday or go for a nice dinner. Good excuse to treat yo self.

What I hate more is the people who insist on celebrating it, buying presents, making a big deal of it, and who then get all upset when you remind them (for at least the 20th time that year) that you REALLy don't want anything to do with it.

Having a birthday in Jan is pants. Lousy weather, no theme parks and most other attractions aren’t open. People are skint or forgotten about birthdays. A former colleague said his birthday on NYD is the worst. As people say Happy New Year to him and never Happy Birthday.
