bit of advice....

The single biggest problem with using running to get slim is that most people dont use progression ... Thats my problem with running, its not the running itself but human beings natural propensity to find the path of least resistance.

What? Firstly you've decided the only form of cardio is running. And secondly that people who run don't progress their routine, but people who lift weights do. There are people the world over train to plateu, and either stay in the rut or give up. That's true of ALL exercise disciplines.

THAT GUY DOESNT LOOK LIKE THAT COS HE RUNS ITS COS HE LIFTS WEIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

You aren't even reading my posts are you? At what point have I toted cardio as a wonder cure, nor have I posted re: training whose sole purpose is vanity. I've run out of ways to iterate my point: Lifting weights has many benefits, but so does the mammoth array of cardiovascular (and other forms of) training. It is unfair to dismiss cv work, and equally unfair to declare that the very fit cannot have excellent physiques.

You train purely for vanity, that's great. Good on you, you've achieved some awesome gains and I'm not judging or deriding your choices of training nor your goals. It's just a shame you can't extend others the same courtesy, or make the effort to comprehend the content of posts if you're going to quote them.

Ive only said that -

Someone who weight trains and does CV can look great
Someone who does CV with Weights can look great
Someone who ONLY weight trains can look great
Someone who ONLY does CV rarely looks great.

Thats all ive ever said and i dont think its wrong. I dont specifically know whether im arguing AGAINST you or not. Im simply voiceing the fact that, comparativley at least, weights does more for aesthetics than endurance training. Now im fully aware that aesthetics are not everything but im fairly convinced that 90+% of motivations for lifestyle changes and "getting into training" are based around improving aesthetics and desirability, its human nature.

Thats why im drawing the assumptions i am and not because im biased toward training an training for vanity.

good on you for getting some tone, hope women rain down from the heavens at your feet. Incidentally try reading my posts, im not dismissing running im simply pointing out that an accomplished bodybuilder physique is better than that of an accomplished runner.

Running eats muscle, muscle looks good.
I find that when I'm running properly, my muscle is more defined. That might be because when training properly I do a few weights sessions a week mind, but if training for running, I don't usually try to build muscle mass.

CV + Weights would always get my vote.
