bit of help with dvdfab and ImTOO DVD Ripper Platinum...

just tried it for the first time by ripping a small clip off a DVD and not sure about the results:

dvdfab.jpg

no idea what to do with this as the last piece of software i had (imTOODVD Ripper Platinum) you just ripped it and that was that, it was ready to play.
So what do i do with the above? i was expecting to have just 1 video file.

also, in dvdfab is there a way to set resolution and sound quality? you can select quality with a drop down box, the two options are dvd5 and dvd9. it says dvd9 is 100 quality with no compression. does this mean that it will be DVD quality on a HD tv?

Thanks,

Flare

You can build a fresh disc image out of the files above using Img Burn, which you could then mount using daemon tools or burn to disc.

Download and install.
Go to mode > build
press 'browse for folder' button.
Select folder root directory (where the above files are stored)
Then either build image or burn straight to disc.

Or,try opening any of the .vob files with windows media player..it ought to play the clip ok.

:D

thanks but that just confused me xD

windows media player wont play it, VLC will, quicktime wont...which is a pain because i need it to work with appletv (quicktime)

Edit: ive tried using imtoo DVD ripper platinum but no matter what i try audio and video are never in sync! can anyone give me some pointers??

Have used a DVDFAB for quite some time it’s a great bit of kit, DVD9 = Dual layer Disk’s, DVD5 = Single layer. I just use DVD5 copy main move only, and I’ve copied many movies and not had one fail yet, just use a descent brand of disk and quality is always good. I always burn at x4 speed never had a coaster yet, it’s so simple to use and just follow prompt’s .

Windows media player opens my .vobs fine  Simply right click ,open with ,windows media player.Works fine.Maybe a codec issue?

the problem is though that i need quicktime/appleTV to to be able to play it, which they dont.
So basically i need a piece of decent software that will rip into .avi format or soemthing
