Bit of spit and polish!

very nice, shiny car :), I still hate the front number plates on alfas though. It just spoils the whole car.

I quite like the offset plate, and to be honest with the design of the front end there isn't really anywhere else it would go!

Can you suggest a better mounting for the current design or would you have redisgned the front end to have a more traditional plate?

Alphas look the dogs. Shame they fall to pieces in under 2 years. I'm sure italians purposely build the nicest look car then throw everything in at the factory then shake it up hoping that it will all work.

Crikey, how much under 2 years am I looking for it to fall apart? I've got just over 36k miles on mine and it'll be 2 years in March so now I'm concerned that in the next 6 months it's going to die!

I'd sell it now, it's obvious you'll be lucky to make it through the next 6 months without it doing an impression of a clowns car :D

I'll give you £60 for it...

So beautiful. Why did you buy a diesel version?

It's like finding out a beautiful woman has a willy! :p

Love the GT.

I got the diesel version for 2 reasons!

1) I bought the car when it was 9 months old with 17k miles on the clock for a bargaintastic price (approx 1/5 of it's new OTR price!) from a very good relative!
2) I drive 100 miles per day so economy does make a difference!

That FIAT/Alfa multijet is easily the best diesel out there.

It's certainly the most complex, injects up to 5 times per firing:
1: A small Pre-injection to warm the air and piston.
2: Another pre-injection.
3: 1st Main injection.
-----TDC-----
4: The engine then measures the acceleration of the piston down the bore for the 1st few mm and calculates how big the second main injection should be.
5: A final injection when cold to light the cat.

That must take some serious computing power.

i beg to differ
i test drove the new fiat bravo multijet recently (i got some air miles if i took one for a test drive)
for example, i drove an A3 1.9 TDI a few years ago when it came out, and it was a lot more responsive and powerful, and it wasn't as raucous either
i think that the BMW diesels are probably the best around..

the multijet engines are very good, but i wouldn't go as far as saying as they are the best
